What has happened to Force India

Last year they had a patch of brilliance in 2009

Yet there hasnt been a peep out of them this season

Any ideas?

I believe it was the fast tracks we saw them come good at the end of last season

I reckon they will do well at Spa with that Mercedes engine. They should at least get in the points and if Sutil can get off to a good start, a fair amount of points as well! I've been pleased with Force India's 2010 season, just a shame Williams are not infront of them! :banghead: :p

@vaptin Yes thats a fair point
Though there appeared to be so much promise and yet still not really seeing the results

Its a team i always look out for

@Mattmk I can'ts say ive looked out for Williams since the Nigel Mansell days

i think force india have done ok, yeah luzzi has a bit of a struggle, but overall theyve done ok, i wouldnt even mind seeing sutil in a mclaren one day possibly after Jenson or Lewis have retired :)

I think McLaren will want to keep Lewis and Jenson as long as they can, they are both world champions and still young enough to produce more wins and victories.

I wouldnt say they have gone backwards... but the top teams are simply too strong. Force india had a good car designed for last yr's regs, maybe as a result of some great design ideas, but that was only so good until the other teams caught up. They have the Merc engine which is the most powerful on the grid. On fast tracks with high engine demand, they do have some advantage maybe in Monza or Spa, but then there's a couple more cars with the same engine advantage and then some.

This yr they've done ok, at least Sutil has. Everybody expected an unrealistic breakthrough; but who knows... some races left, maybe they can snatch a podium. It might take rain, a SC, a couple teammates taking themselves out... plus a little bit of luck :)

In any case, very well done. Climbing from all the way at the back (and dealing with a somewhat unstable workforce) to deliver a couple of competitive seasons is not bad at all.

It's the only F1 forum I'm a member of, even though I follow a bunch of sites and also read some Spanish language F1 sites. There are some very knowledgeable and helpful folks here, so welcome aboard.

I had a look at a few forums, and IMHO this one seemed the most homely
