Normally meet a few at whittlebury campsite at silverstone. Trulli, Petrov, Kubica and Massa this year. The best with the fans was actually Martin Whitmarsh he must have spent 15 mins signing autographs. Massa probably next. Worst surprise surprise was Alonso who didnt acknowledge anyone and just walked past.

Thats a suprise????

Let it go RC, some people don't really know their next door neighbor that they've lived next to for 10 years, some people don't know their spouse so nothing can be assumed by a chance meeting with anyone.

I bet he really really had to use the bathroom.

More likely, late to pluck his brows in time for the press conference........... :P

And don't make me talk about teeth! cause we all know who's gotta spend serious EXTRA time brushing and/or whitening his....

Ohh.. BTW I met Alguersuari on the Red Bull F1 beach drive some month or two ago.... it was super nice cause it was a nice and low profile promo event. There was not much people, and everyone was at hand's distance from the car, the mechanics, the drivers etc

I met Alonso and Massa in Montreal... got an autograph from Massa. I also met Stefano and Chris Dyer, got an autograph from Stefano. And in 2006 at Montreal I was in front of a hotel where Ferrari were having a party and Schumi walks out 1 meter in front of me surrounded by 6 body guards... My dad met JAckie Stewart and D.C

Met a few in Pan Pacific hotel in Malaysia 2004. It was pretty funny, I was chillin at a bar with foosball tables and having a drink, and turned around saw saw Jenson Button at the foosball table. At first I was like, wow he looks like Jenson (as I've never seen an F1 driver 'live' before) and then got very suspicious when someone went over to him with a notepad. Then he signed it and I'm like...hey! F1 drivers stay here??? :D

Next thing I did was run out of the bar and wait at the lobby to see who else would come in....was a successful move. Met and spoke with Giancarlo, Mark Webber, Jarno Trulli, Ross Brawn, and saw Flavio having a serious chat with another guy in the lounge. Giancarlo and Trulli especially, very friendly guys.

And then I saw Alonso walk in...didn't really want to speak to him (wasn't a fan of him from the start). Then I turned around and WHO ELSE BUT KIMI! Goddamn, I was starstruck. But he was rushing into this VIP lounge nearby where us mere mortals aren't allowed....so. And then saw David Coulthard from far entering the lift.

Now the funny part. Rubens running into the hotel (drenched in sweat), looking around for someone and then running back out. My mate who was sharing the good time commented "Maybe Ferrari forgot him..."

I was brought up next door to the uncle of Jim Clark. He used to visit at times. I was running a 1955 historic GP car and several times he would 'muck in' and drive it around the farm. He seemed just like an ordinary nice chap and we enjoyed him. He also came to play in our tennis parties a couple of times and most of the other guests did not even recognise him!

One of our more toffee nosed guests asked him what he did.
"I'm a driver"
"Oh, I did not think he (my father) used a chauffeur!"

Ok, from what I could see, he's very soft spoken and excited with his job in F1. He acts and looks young... never really acted like "the man of the hour" but rather enjoying the moment, but i guess it was more related to the event itself. It was all pretty relaxed and all about fun. He took time to talk and have fun with us who were there, but of course, since there was no "mobbing" or people rushing for autographs he remained quite easy about it all... i asked if he thought Vettel was going to win the WDC, he said yes. hehe

I didnt bring a proper camera, because the event caught me by surprise, there was no mention of RB doing this demonstration... but for video and more photos about the event, see here:

Met and chatted to JB at a book signing in Cribbs Causeway Bristol, was cool. But also said a few words to many of the F1 elite at the Singapore GP 2008, as they made there way to the pits, was an ace few hours. Some pics for evidence.

Buemi, didn't know who he was at the time as he hadn't got a drive yet. Though he was the keenest to pose for photos etc.
