Or any track for that matter and name any great memories you have of past races being held there. Let's get a real good topic going!

I do not have a real favourite but I love Monacco, Silverstone and Spa Franchchorchamps.

Monacco: for the glamour and sensation of speed twisting through the streets. Corners like piscine the tunnel and ras gas.

Silverstone: because it's my home grand prix track. And it's the closest British race circuit to me. and the amount of fans is just fantastic and insprining.

Spa Franchcorchamps: Just the sheer size of it and of course the Eau Rouge chicane. Also the frequent changes in track height.

Old Circuits:

Brooklands, UK: The first crucible of British speed which has now been tragically been built on. Watch James May's Toy stories to see him recreate the whole 3 mile circuit in scalextric, really good history about the circuit too.

The old Hockenheimring: Fantastic track with 4 long straights in which you could beat 200mph every lap. Special memory was when Rubens Barrichello got his first win in F1 in 2000, such an emotional race. Watch it on youtube quickly before it gets taken down by WMG or something.

Worst courses:

Valencia: Not much grandstands for a fans to watch. Being a new course it has no charisma. Hardly any places to pass.

Barhain: Not a very exciting course. And again nowhere to pass.

Now I want to her your thoughts and opinions.

Thanks, Matt.

For circuits I like Spa the most. By far...
The natural feel to it (meaning no matter how much thought a person puts into a track, they couldn't recreate this), and the lenght of the lap make it seem less a karting track and more like a "cruise" track. Very fast cruising...

I also like the 3rd sector at monaco. Wonderful on the edge racing there... as soon as they come out of the tunnel until the last corner... its a you-blink-you-die section.

The worst track...i think its Bahrain. The surroundings are terrible, the track makes no sense... having a race there... makes no sense, except that petroleum rich guys want a circus in their backyard. Maybe if they would just hire the whole teams, cars and get them to make a private show for them... might be better than having everyone having to watch it.

I also dont like the cartoon-ish appereance they've given the new Abu Dhabi track.

Older tracks... maybe the old Brasil track, and Imola are very nice.

Laguna Seca; will be a Legendary track the most unique corner in the world followed by a decent amount of very good corners.
Spa; i agre with everything you say, its one of the grand classic tracks flowing, fast and unique.
monaco; the original street circuit, no other will ever be as good or even close to it
nordschleife; another will be legendary track, it may not be the most suitable for racing but its a great piece of tarmac !

but there are many many other tracks that are great just non quite as great.

i wouldnt say that there are tracks that are just plain rubbish as i think they all have the potential to create a good race.

Keeping to F1 my favourits would be Spa, Monza, Silverstone, Montreal, Melbourne, Interlagos, track's i look forward to seeing because they have character. I cant say i look forward to Abu Dhabi, Valencia, (Insert Tilkedrome here(With the exception's of Sepang and Istanbul)).

Does anyone else think Hungary is one of the most fun tracks in the games  .

Favourite is, without a doubt, Spa-Francorchamps. It's challenging, fast, always produces fantastic races and it is a beautiful race track. It is also where the first Formula One race I ever watched was held, back in 1998, so it is very special for me. I still remember those images of Damon flying around in the wet, huge rooster-tail behind the bright yellow car. :)

My least favourite circuit is the new Bahrain. It was previously Valencia, but this year the Bahrain race was so dull to watch, even more so than the previous two at Valencia, and the new parts of the circuit just look terrible to drive. I was actually quite happy with the old Bahrain layout, as it at least offered something, but now there seems to be nothing worth getting out of bed to see.

Anything designed by Hermann Tilke, with the exception of Istanbul which is actually rather good!

Not Sepang? I find that to be a decent enough track.

Also, special mention for Suzuka, one of the finest circuits ever built.

That's what all these new tracks are missing, charisma, history, memories, great duels between great drivers. Interlagos and Montreal are both stunners too. Espicially Montreal which is pretty much an island. I wonder if that one house has access to the whole track. That would be my dream idyllic residence!

If a new track was good enough then the history, memorys etc would come over time, but unfortunatly , most of them are so dull and uninspiring its not likely.

Of course. It's because those courses are dull is that it is near certain that they will not evoke any memories.
