Now I actually hope they do, otherwise it will just be Ferrari & RBR, I obviously don't mind Ferrari taking this years 2010 WDC because i love them but, I hate RBR and would prefer to fight McLaren....

So please get it together boys.

A month or two ago, there was a thread asking whether McLaren's recent victories meant that this was the start of a new Golden Age for McLaren. I suggested that it was perhaps too soon to come to such a conclusion. For this (I think) reasonable and (I think) vindicated comment, I was roll-eyesed and criticized.

Everybody is protective of 'their' teams though.
Mclaren supporters seem to be a little more protective of the team and their drivers though...

True that. They are rather rabid, but then that is probably a good thing eh? Don't get me wrong, I do tend to get sideways from time to time with the few who are particularly abusive to all things non-McLaren but still I think that having fans that are die hard is good for the team and sport in general. All things in moderation of course.

So, on this rare occasion, I salute the McLaren fans for being so devoted. Cheers :drink:

I still hope Button beats Hamilton (though I suppose in the deepest recesses of my mind....I find it unlikely).

Now love, love don't come easy
But I keep on waiting
Anticipating for that soft voice
To talk to me at night
For some tender arms
Hold me tight
I keep waiting
Oh, till that day
But it ain't easy
No, you know it ain't easy

To be fair, he hasn't said anything stupid in a while. Since before dad was fired perhaps? The two races where he bitched at the team over the radio were the last incidents I can recall....but those were pretty minor in comparison to years prior. In any event, he is clearly taking strides in the right direction (probably because he has something resembling a real PR manager stashed away)...and he hasn't done anything stupid in the car for a while. I'm not saying I'm sold by any stretch...that takes time. As an example..if Alonso stopped crying on the radio and being such a baby....how long would it take you to believe he had really changed? Couple seasons? That's how long it will take me anyway.

He's actually done a decent job. The kind of job he has been assumed to have been doing all along... but hasn't really.
But yeah, he's been a bit more quiet... fact, Ron has only had to shut him up once (after the Hungary coments). So i say that's progress.... not enough for me to bother reading his post race comments or any at all, but enough to not change the channel when he's on.

Pretty dissapointing this time around by McLaren. As a McLaren & Lewis fan, it really looked like they knew what they were doing, and then this ultra frustrating reliability monster had to pop up, robbing Lewis of another easy 15 points. They better get their collective arse working during this 3 week break, forced break or not, dig up a freakin hole in the ground and work your arse off.

i totally agree with you!, Lewis was robbed!, but its only the second time this season, he is only 4 points behind in the title race ! and its all to play for!, jenson, lewis and the mclaren boys need to work like mad in the week between the 2 week shutdown and the belgian gp!, but i back them to do it! and i quote from martin whitmarsh ''bring it on''!

It took me about 1 season to not hate Alonso after the whole Mclaren fiasco and than half a season to start hating him again so for me not long but maybe i am special.

Also what did he do stupid with his car previously? his aggressive driving style? i wish he would get that back personally as it was more enjoyable to watch.

Not saying i want him to start crashing into people or making others crash but this is supposed to be a competitive sport and you need to be aggressive if you want to win.

What you mean like having your team mate let you through?

Hm, how about this oldie but goodie?

 I can guess what that is without looking. He'd have won the chapionship that year without that. Add the points he lost in the last two races and it shows what a damn good show he must have put up in the rest of the races as a rookie to finnish one point off the champioship and ahead of an experienced two times world champion team mate.!
