I believe Alonso is the most complete driver in F1 today and his peers agree.

:bs:

Even do I dislike Alonso as a person (seems vain, problematic, and egotistical), I have to agree with Mr. Conte. He might not be the absolute best, but he is easily in the top five drivers right now. Maybe even the top three.

Of course he's in the top 5. Maybe even top 3. I can't stand the guy but I'd readily admit to this anytime. What I can't admit to is the belief that he is undoubtedly No.1 on the grid, sorry but he's not come close to showing that this season. He's made 2 or 3 big mistakes which cost his team points already and that was before halfway in the championship.

I couldn't begin to choose which driver is the best on the grid. Far to much is car dependent. With that said, Alonso would certainly be one of the finalists...along with...with...oh dammit, I just can't say it. The evil one. Whatshisname. TheTeamMadeMeDoIt.

Ha ha. Fair enough.
I would say... as a driver... Lewis will drive anything fast. Period.
As an F1 driver... Alonso is able to do much more than just drive the car fast.

Definitely, Lewis has done very well this season. Good respect for him and Jenson. Will their jobs be at the end better than the others' jobs to be considered the best? i dont know... dont think so.

Nobody is undisputed No.1
Will Alonso's job at the end of the season be good enough to be considered the best by everyone?
again, i don't know. But it could be.

As a car, where was the Ferrari at the beggining of the season and where is it now. Where was the MClaren at the start of the season... and where is it now? with both Mclaren drivers driving at their peak, while Ferrari's arent... i'd say Alonso has a harder work at hand since the team relies on him more, until Massa picks up his form and come to terms with the F10.

So... taking into consideration both driving displays, and team work and work done on the car... Perhaps by the end of the season, Ferrari's and Alonso's job could be defined as the best in the grid. it will all depend on the last part of the season.

As for Red bull... hmmm difficult to say their drivers have been the best, or done the best job in such a great car. To me, they should be miles ahead in the standings. Both have made graver mistakes than Alonso or L'Ew'is

:nono::bs: RC, this is where you are wrong, because I think Alonso is the absolute best there's ever been at waving at other drivers.

I said... we'll wait til the end of the season. if he did the best job, and made the best driving, then we could say he is the best in the current field. Given his in a new team and that the F10 was not really that good from the start of the season. But it will depend on how the rest of the season goes.

As for Ew-is, it will also remain to be seen. So far, not the best, ragardless what you and your crew think. And also so far not the best at bringing the Mclaren forward. On the contrary.

The Red bulls.... have made many mistakes. If they tank this championship. No way they are the best; they had the car to cruise it...

If he manages to win the WDC this year, he'd have a case. Even with making those errors he made, most of the time he still managed to pull it back.

Ha! if he does win it, there'll be no case. :whip:
I doubt he'll win it though... there's still the engines issue lingering. But he could still deliver the best performance of the field without grabbing the WDC. So could any of the others.

 So he is! And Vettel is best at waving at Pit lane personel.

He is also pretty damn good at whining when things don't go his way. Followed very very closely be either Vettel or Hammy.

:bs: as usual. Just watch the post race interviews with Hammy, where he has performed poorly or the car has failed he usually says "Welcome to my world". Not whinging as to why he was penalised and throwing his cap onto the podium floor. This is a more mature Hamilton. He brings excitement to the grid, whether he's on pole, 2nd, 3rd row or further back, you just know he's gonna go for it.

You though are one sad individual who cannot even bring yourself to mention him by name. If you have any decency for the sport, give praise where praise is due, otherwise join a Karting forum to vent your venom, something more akin to your knowledge

I think you made a mistake on your post. You put 'Hammmy'. He doesnt whine. With the other two, you are correct sir :D

There you go again...which is typical of your herd...trying to turn this into a personal fight instead of a discussion. The mods have asked all of us to calm that sort of thing, so I'm going to overlook the personal jabs of yet another Hamilton worshiper.

As to his whining. He did a pretty good job of dressing the team down over the radio in two different races this season when things didn't go his way. I call that whining. I call that exactly the same kind of whining as Alonso crying over it being 'ridiculous' that he was behind Massa. I would call that the exact same kind of whining that Vettel is quickly becoming known for. You can call it something else if you like...perhaps you will call it team leadership or maybe even british humor or some such thing. I call it whining....which is exactly what it was called by the entire SpeedTv broadcasting crew who love Hamilton dearly.

McLaren's position:
McLaren group chairman and former team principal Ron Dennis has directed the team's drivers Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button 'to stop whining and start winning' races.

BBC called it:
it was a bad-tempered end to a bad weekend that saw Hamilton uncharacteristically lose his cool and that he will doubtless want to swiftly consign to the history books and move on from

But then the rest of the world can't be the experts that you obviously are. Still, I disagree with you and say Hamilton has whined plenty this season..which is why I put him in with Vettel and Alonso. You are free to disagree...I'll not lose any sleep over it.
#210543
He hasnt whined so I'll disagree too. But Im glad you wont loose sleepover it. I wouldnt want that on my conscience!

So you're saying that Ron Dennis is lying in order to make Hamilton look bad. Ok, penciling you in as agreeing to disagree....with the rest of the planet. :D
