I find this quite strange, would a team using customer engines be allowed to gain an advantage over previous years by getting a different engine supplier? whereas a team that manufactures it's own engines not be able to make any changes unless it gets someone else to supply it's engines. And what if a new team came in that wanted to use it's own engines. That and the fact that they'll be stuck with what they've got at the moment, bugs n all. If they're going to go down this route why don't they just say one engine supplier for the whole grid?

Oi, Texas, I was half way through replying when you locked the last one!!!

The complete freeze on the front wing is stupid. I think they should have strict guidelines on the maximum surface area of parts (i.e. Front/rear wing, sidepod inlets, barge boards - although I think they should be scrapped completely) that way teams would need to develop ways to maximise the use of the permitted volume of downward pressure that that amount of surface air would create.

As I've said elsewhere... Welcome to the Max and Bernie Comedy Half Century.

why not just make every team use the same car and engine, that would make the racing closer.

And the teams would save a shedload of money not having to design and develop cars.

the top teams will be ok but those further down the grid look like they will have to stay there

Madness. In 10 years, new Toyota Corolla will have more powerful engine than Toyota F1... unless MM finds a way to freeze engine developments outside F1.

OK, so I'm exaggerating... but 10 years without engine development will certainly take F1 of the top of motor racing. Now... I haven't seen all the details, so forgive me for asking but... does that mean if any of strong teams end up with crappy engine in 2008 (like Mercedes had a few crappy ones in the last few years), they'll have that crappy engine for next 10 years..?

Will they freeze other developments as well? Will they freeze drivers as well..? FA and LH in McLaren for 10 years..? 8)

No, it's really stupid. What makes F1 fun for me is complete competition on all levels - on track, off track, on design boards, in factories... freezing anything will kill a part of F1 excitement. For me, at least.

Thats crap. Mosley has gone mad.

F1 is all about new technology and FIA is capping the jinnie in a small bottle for hell 10 long years.
