Its not a ridiculous exageration, its an understatement. The gap is 1.7

Only at this track. So in the grand scheme of things, yeah, it is an exaggeration. Like i said too, the gap is in qualifying only. :-|

Can't believe how quick Red Bull were in Q3 just then, it's mind blowing.

It might only be in qualifying but they haven't exactly been slow in any of the races either infact in most races they have had more than enough pace to keep ahead of any other car.

Qualifying is such a huge advantage something Red Bull this season have thrown away with their horrible starts, horrible team decisions and just plain bad driver decisions, either of the Red Bull drivers could have easily been probably 100 points ahead without these mistakes something you cant really say about the other teams.

So saying the huge gaps red bull have had at several tracks during qualifying this season is an exaggeration is just silly, just go look at the times yourself and you will see how big the gaps have been at times.

I know what the time gaps in qualifying have been like in Q this season, i already know everything you are telling me (no offence :P ). Today they had pretty unprecidented domination but really they only 'dominated' q3 previously at Spain and Silverstone. By the same token i have seen every lap of every race this season and so i know how close or indeed ahead on pace the McLaren (and Ferrari for that matter) has been at some races. It's the route they chose to go down with the car, and they surely must have known or at least had an idea what knock on effects it might have given the vast expertise and experience there - simple as that. I'm not even sure what the debate we're having is here....

I think we're deabating the untouchable pace the redbulls have in quali and the advantage that gives them in the race.

2 of the 3 weeks break is a mandatory close down so well i doubt much will happen, i would expect a much better result at spa though.

in the 1:18's amazing job by redbull, incredible car

That's just for the factory though, designers and people that will come up with the ideas can do whatever they wish in their time off, witch will be work on design. I don't think that wing alone is accounting for the 1.7 second gap between the Red Bull and the McLaren though. As it's been noted the only saving grace for them so far this year has been a bit more fortune than other teams and a lot better race pace than qualifying pace. Plus they've managed to keep their drivers from going at each others throats for now.

There was ever any doubt and therefore debate to be had for that?!?! :P

Anyway.
Hopefully Webber can do what Massa did in '08 tomorrow and get a decent start from second and get the lead. It's doable!
Honestly, i'm waiting for the next Red Bull team collision though, i just have a feeling something will go down at some point this season....

Unless that startline practice Vettel apparently got this week actually helped i wouldn't be surprised if Webber is ahead after the 1st turn or both Red bulls are into a wall.

Vettel has clearly shown he is terrible at starts so i wouldn't bet money on him getting a good 1 this time out.

Vettle has a pretty damn poor record of capitalizing on his poles... I've been right and I've been wrong predicting how he'd screw things up but tomorrow looks to be a race for the third step on the podium if we're lucky enough to get that. I wouldn't be surprised if we see 6 or 7 cars on the lead lap at the checkered flag.

What we are sure to see is a lot of floppy front wings in Spa next month!

My dream scenario:-

Chaos and jostling at the first corner particularly between Alonso and the red bulls.
Hamilton gets through into 1st place, Massa follows for 2nd. Then the red bulls get themselves together with Webber ahead of Vettel, Alonso 5th; Thus Alonso cannot whine about the ridiculous situation unless he does some overtaking, and Ferrari cant give 'team orders'.

Result 1st Lewis, 2nd Massa, 3rd Webber :cloud9:

As i said its my dream :D

Your nightmare scenario would be Vettle gets overtaken by Alonso for first place in the last turn before the checkered flag, with Hamilton fighting for 10th after having to get back to the points because of loosing his nose at the start from a crash with Petrov?

Alonso should be 3rd that way Hamilton would have a bigger gap ahead of the Red Bulls :p.

But then Ferrari would make him switch for the prima donna. So at least one red bull has to be inbetween.
Also cant bring myself to want him 3rd :P

Some people just looooove debate... :)

Last week i knew Vettel would finish 3rd and Alonso 1st.
Now... this race is tough because both Red Bulls are ahead. From how I see it, Alonso should try and maximise his pts gain on Lewis, which means Alonso should try on the 1st corner. Other than then, I doubt he'll be able to read the sign on Red Bull rear wings. Massa should not let Lewis by and Alonso should finish on the podium...

Then hope on the next group of upgrades and everyone should have a zen master at hand because the coming races will be tense.
