What worries me is that Lewis says this is the best car he's ever driven and a car that you can really push to the limits, and STILL they're a second behind.

Lewis and Jens have also said its not quick enough in quali and aroused the wrath of Ron Dennis who was not happy with them for saying so. Its given them 4 wins ,he said ,and they're leading both championships.

Instead of being happy with 4 wins our Ron needs to be get to the bottom of why this McLaren is 1.5 sec a lap off the Red Bulls, and quick

He already did, it's because they concentrated on making a good race car AT THE REQUEST OF THE DRIVERS! 1.5s a lap is a ridiculous exaggeration and only applicable in qualifying too.

Well after watching all the practice sessions,it really is damage limitation for McLaren.Red Bull's as normal in a class of their own.
One thing did make me laugh in this mornings session was someone emailed in and said he didn't think it was right that two drivers in the commentry box were better than at least 6/7 going round the track :hehe:

The problem is you cant really expect cars starting from 5th/6th to win the race especially on some tracks that are very hard to overtake on.

Mclaren probably have had the best race pace all season but there is a reason they aren't far ahead of the other teams and that reason is because they are always having to push up past cars to actually get a podium compared to the red bulls who have had some pretty easy chances at podiums starting out front.

If they stay the 3rd fastest car in Qualifying for the rest of the season than the only way they will win the championship is if the 2 teams infront of them continue to make huge mistakes during the races.

Qualifying has a pretty huge impact on a race now with only 1 pitstop on average.

Jenson is eliminated in Q2 for second time this season. McLaren suck royally here. Good thing they have Lewis to salvage something again...

Its not a ridiculous exageration, its an understatement. The gap is 1.7

That red bull is something else.Elastic front wing or not they're miles ahead on this evidence.
At least we might see a championship battle if it's two red bulls, better chance of a battle than if the one man team italians were winning :hehe:

Delighted for Petrov to outqualify Kuica :)

Only at this track. So in the grand scheme of things, yeah, it is an exaggeration. Like i said too, the gap is in qualifying only. :-|

Can't believe how quick Red Bull were in Q3 just then, it's mind blowing.

It might only be in qualifying but they haven't exactly been slow in any of the races either infact in most races they have had more than enough pace to keep ahead of any other car.

Qualifying is such a huge advantage something Red Bull this season have thrown away with their horrible starts, horrible team decisions and just plain bad driver decisions, either of the Red Bull drivers could have easily been probably 100 points ahead without these mistakes something you cant really say about the other teams.

So saying the huge gaps red bull have had at several tracks during qualifying this season is an exaggeration is just silly, just go look at the times yourself and you will see how big the gaps have been at times.
