Just a far out thought but could the movable section of the front wing be used to affect the stiffness of the wing?
To use my phone in the car I deleted all my German contacts, it's now Hans free.

The unpainted longitudinal element is behaving like a beam and absorbing the bending stress when it flexes, while the rest remains stiff. It could be the same material just aligned differently, or maybe it has some other material as well.

I havent seen either up close pics, but there definitely seem to be a beam of some sort in RB's wing. Ferrari's look different and maybe not working so well in Hungary...
Seems like yet another pt for Newey's design team

McLaren wrote:How can that front wing be legal,it couldn't flex much more if it was made of elastic. The thing is ment to be rigid something that clearly isn't.No, it's meat to be rigid at a certain load placed on it during the FIA tests. It was, and so it's legal. The only options are to discuss the legality of it under the "spirit" of the rules or allow every other team on the grid to be able to design a wing that does exactly the same thing.
