Just noticed Virgins fastest lap at Hockenheim was only 2.5 seconds down on the fastest lap, That's pretty good, I read somewhere their continuing to shed pounds off the car here and there, they might be able to fight with a Toro Rosso by the end of the year. Interesting their development push started right after somebody told Richard branson that the best of the new teams would get 17mill in prize money.

I believe that Lotus will be the best of the new teams; Virgin have done well but I think they have started their push too late, can't see them getting near the Toro Rosso this year. I would have thought that the Virgin would already be at the minimum weight allowed in F1; if they are not I would be massively surprised!

I do know D'Grassi has been quite slow because he weighs more than Glock and pushed the weight of the car way above the minimum, It also prevents them using much in the way of weights to balance the setup, None at all for D'Grassi.

I have to admit to a soft spot in my heart for Lotus. I would like to see them do well and remain. Virgin...I just can't bring myself to like Branson. TR....meh.

What's really killing these teams is lack of reliability. Man, they break more parts than a 1985 Saab 900 Turbo.

If they get lucky they could score a point, especially now that Lotus have apparently stopped developing this year's car. Lotus will be way ahead of them next season though i expect.

Much more reliable in 92 when I got mine.
