Ferrari just wanted Alonso past Massa for the championship, Alonso was clearly ahead in the WDC, it was about the bigger picture for Ferrari neither the team, nor Alonso particularly cared about the spectacle of overtaking.

bad is still a character............

the sport needs a range of people, think about hesketh... what awesome show they had.

I just checked Alonso is not on the christmas card list, I say we need more "characters" in the sport. Makes the off track more interesting.

Do you really want a paddock full of Bernie approved types? I don't.

Exactly. Its all about the bigger picture. I simply can't see why people want to go over and over about some BS.

In all sports you have a team achievement and an individual achievement. You have MVPs, Homerun records, Cy young, Laureate or whatever award.... the team cares about the team's result. If a pitcher is on his way to a personal record and the coach/team realize he must be taken out of a game for the benefit of the team... he gets a seat. Simple. Nobody questions.

If Ferrari believe Massa is not the one who has the most chances of winning the championship for them... its up to them how to run their team. Frankly... what's the big deal??

Massa won't win the championship this yr. Not with his struggles. EVERYONE in the paddock knows this, and pretty much every fan out there. Should Ferrari play Mother teresa and hurt their team's results for the sake of being appealable to the other teams' fans? :bs::bs::bs:

That is stupid. You want to ban team orders... ban teams. Have individual teams. In fact, tell Massa right now: you can get out of your contract if you want. Let's see what he does. He knows he's been given equal opportunities and couldnt perform. For whatever the reason. He simply didnt. See above.. EVRYONE knows it.

please its pathetic you defending it F1ea. If it was a couple races to go then sure im pretty sure no one would care but to make Massa pull over with 8 races still to go is stupid!

Was giving Vettel webber's wing with 9 races to go stupid? Horner didnt think so. And the RB's are tied in the standings and both are showing genuine pace. Had it been anyone behind Massa after he came out of the pit stop, and they would have gone for him, possibly made him crash or something... Alonso clearly backed off to avoid yet another quite possible crazy incident. because look at it this way: Massa has nothing to lose. Taking both of them out, means a lot less to Massa than it did to Ferrari or Alonso.

I'm not judging but what i think is stupid or not, but by how it would be understandable for a team to think. If you look deep inside your heart... you know Massa has no chance, and so do everyone else. Whether or not we feel sorry about him, is another issue.

please lets not get too PC here for gods sake! a knife is a knife a brick is a brick and a Spaniard is a Spaniard. Why cant we state the truth?

Let's keep nationalist comments out of this; it's unfair to tar an entire nation of people because of one persons actions! Thanks!!!

If Massa had won and Alonso second, He would have only been 30 odd points behind Alonso with 8 races to go. Under the old scoring system thats like being 12 points behind. There is still every chance Massa can win if Alonso can!

I can only imagine the outrage you and the likes of bill would be acting if McLaren told Button to move aside for Lewis! seriously!

I said Spanish members on here, not Spaniards in general. What ive said is factual, im open to be proven wrong about the Spanish members on here!
Its funny im not British yet i feel im defending your country more than you mods when you let these Spaniards log on here and have a go at Brits yet they don't get told not to speak nationalistically!

Then again, looking at how far Alonso is behind the others, Ferrari don't really want Massa taking points of Alosno.

send him out on 3 bloody tyres then! jesus we are racing here!

and Alonso isnt that far behind considering its 25 points for a win, and Massa isnt that far behind Alonso.

I would laugh my bottom off if Alonso starts having a few DNFs with a strong run from Massa and have to reverse favourtism. I would LOVE to see that happen to the prancing donkeys at Ferrari!

I don't see anyone having a go at any country or nationalism except for you. Even in the above post you are talking nations against nations instead of teams and drivers against the same. You need counseling. I understand why nationalism is such a dodgy topic where you live, but it doesn't belong in here. These are teams competing against each other and the fact that it's world wide is supposed to be a benefit, not problem. These boards are bad enough with all the bickering and antics (most of which you are square in the middle of), but now you are getting bored with that and want to turn it into Brits against Spanish against god knows who else. It's pointless, ignorant and blatantly against the board rules to bring such personal attacks into these discussions. If you disagree with someone...say so and back up your argument but having a go at their nation is not going to prove your point. When you can't prove your point and resort to name calling...you should be banned from these boards and it is something that you are doing in multiple threads constantly.

In the beginning it wasn't about the point standing. Alonso whining to the team that n showing the pace that he is faster than his teammate. Weather he worries about the rival behind or simply want to be in the very 1st place, only he himself knows the answer. After the so called order, the moves n the controversy, then this excuse comes out. If really the team wants alonso to win the race for maximum points, instead of 'fernando is faster than you', it should be 'fernando is so much more points than you'..

In the 2007 US GP, Alonso also got stuck in traffic behind his own teammate, one Lewis Hamilton. If McLaren had ordered the rookie to let Alonso past, Alonso and McLaren would have won the WDC, not Raikkonen and Ferrari.

Very good point.

You can't rise to the occasion if you're not given the opportunity in the first place.

I'm not on your back bud, just pointing out the rules you are breaking. Even in this response you refer to Iberian which is of course another jab at Spain and the Iberian Peninsula. You have a real obsession and hatred of all things spanish as of late and you are throwing out insults having nothing to do with F1 or F1 viewpoints but centered strictly on the posters nation. It is silly quite frankly. Surely you can find more traction for your argument than the poster's nationality. Surely after 11,678 posts on this board alone you have learned a better debating style than calling names and getting all emotional....otherwise, how sad is that?
