That is good stuff. We need more influential people in the paddock to speak up and pressure the WMSC into doing the right thing. Ferrari needs to be stripped off the results of Hockenheim, the minimum penalty. And respect to Jean Todt for pulling himself out of contention for making a decision.

Don't expect Brawn to speak up though.

Its all about winning, FIA cant make new rules every race just because they want a british driver to win. There have been some really nasty calls on ferrari this year. FIA is going to destroy F1. Teams pay big bucks to run and have a lot at stake. The rules have to be clear, you cant make a ruling a week after something happened. Imagine that happened in soccer... sorry that fault you did 15 minutes ago was penalty, please lets stop the game and throw that penalty now. Its part of the sport, you have to live with it. Sometimes the ruling goes to you, sometimes against u. FIA should have spoken at that moment. Not later in the office. Its the only sport that can happen.

what do you have against Alonso? he is a self made pilot who only wants to win. He is great working with the mecanics, he is great setting up cars. He is no pretty boy party freak, so what. His whole life is F1, that is great.

Go alonso, go ferrariªª

yep you're a Spaniard.... typical display right there!

And your are not... so?

is it a crime to be spaniard. Are we tackling ideas or people.

I can be of any race, country, sexual orientation, religion or political backround. I belive what I believe, and have the right to say so.

I belive massa has put the spotlite on his team because he is a coward and can no longer fight on the race track. Arrest me if you want.

All the insults of ther world wont change the fact that Massa is now a third class F1 driver. At least you agree on that.

Montezemolo: The interest of the team comes before the individual
26/07/2010
Following his team's controversial 1-2 at Hockenheim, Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has his out at the hypocrisy of the Maranello outfit's critics emphasising that the team comes first.

"The result is down to the efforts of all our people, who never give up," he told the Ferrari website. "Now we have to continue working like this, to improve the car so that is competitive at all the circuits we will encounter.

"Alonso and Massa also did very well, giving their all throughout the weekend," he continued. "The polemics are of no interest to me. I simply reaffirm what I have always maintained, which is that our drivers are very well aware, and it is something they have to stick to, that if one races for Ferrari, then the interests of the team come before those of the individual.

"In any case, these things have happened since the days of Nuvolari and I experienced it myself when I was Sporting Director, in the days of Niki Lauda and not just then...

"Therefore enough of this hypocrisy, even if I can well believe that some people might well have liked to see our two drivers eliminate one another, but that is definitely not the case for me or indeed for our fans."

If it is all about the team then they would score the same amount of points no matter who came 1st or 2nd

The team also want to win the WDC, and they've made the decision that Massa can't do it, and Alonso needed those extra points enough to make it worthwhile for Massa to take the knock to his status and confidence.

I think it was a mistake, very few would've moaned had this race been later in the season, but this was too early.

thats the whole point Vaptin if Massa had won with Fernando 2nd he would have only been 30 odd points behind him. How on earth is that too far behind for him to challenge for the title when there is 25 for a win and with hundreds of points still available.

Fernando has got at Ferrari what he wanted but didnt get at McLaren, #1 status.

I agree,

wasn't expecting that was you :P

Of course this is also going to knock Massa down so Ferrari probably won't get the constructors now.

:nono: No mate, he is not allowed by his team to fight on the race track anymore!

from now on he will just help alonso, instead from racing for the WDC as all other drivers do!

if that seems fair to you, then ........

being spanish means that your judgement comes from patriotism, instead being just an f1 fan!

Please let me know if what your are saying is that Massa is at the same level of the other 9 in the classification? is that what I am hearing? do all you agree with that?

FYI all: choose your words VERY carefully when making sweeping generalisations of a nation on here otherwise you might find yourself banned... this goes for everyone on here, you should all know the rules.

I don't know why everyone is so shocked by how FA behaves, we saw his true colours at Mac Laren as he called them......difference there was Ron Dennis is not the sort of chap to put up with that whingey behaviour.

Personally I think Fernando has found the perfect fit at Ferrari, they compliment each other perfectly. There is also a possible marketing tie in with his alter ego as the son in the Dolmio ads :)

Massa given the support and commitment of the team in 2008 came within 1 point of winning the WDC. OR did you watch F1 in 2008? If you didn't know the sport existed then, I fully understand.

If Massa is no good why did FA need teams orders to pass him, can't be that slow if mr 2 times has to resort to asking team for help to pass...........
