We'll know if Massa is a straight-up guy if he can refrain from jamming his front wing into Alonso's right rear as they dive into turn 1 in Hungary next Sunday.

Massa was also upset in the Q press conference and nothing had been done to thim.
He's struggling, he knows it and he hates it.

Also, a close friend of his just died very recently, he mentioned it in the race conference.

I sympathise with Massa. I want him to solve his tires issues and get back to form. Maybe Fernando should have pushed him real hard when his tires were still cold and was all over the place. Possibly taken him out of the race and allowing Vettel to catch up. That would have been real nice for Massa.

Of course. And he would have been very happy getting pole position. But he didnt.

In fact, many sportspeople would be very happy scoring the winning goal, the winning home run or whatever. Do you think the coaches, the team owners, the team fans want to see a guy tank a championship because he wants to feel happy with a certain figure or record?

The answer is no.

Massa is a great guy. Very good driver, hard working and extremely sporting. He wants to earn the position to win a cahmpionship? then perform like he did in 2008.

Obviously they had. But nobody sends drivers off to a race expecting them to struggle...
it seems too early, but the fact is, Ferrari is desperate. Because they havent been good enough the rest of the season. And Massa has been terrible. Alonso has gotten bad results, but in pretty much all ocassions showed good pace or at least hope. Massa simply hasnt been able to, until this race. Sorry... but that's how it goes.

I like Massa. But I don't feel sorry for him one bit. He was clearly slower than his team mate and then he acted like a whining baby both with where he allowed the pass and what he said in the press conference. I went back and watched it again...and Massa needs to either take some responsibility for his inabilities or take a walk.

He was telling him to push because both Ferraris had to clear Vettel. Even after he was 2nd, he was telling him to push because tehy wanted the 1-2 and to avoid Vettel getting more championship pts.

Right after the pit stop, Massa could have let Alonso by, but at that moment... they couldnt know Massa was going to struggle with the hards. In other words: the team let Massa show his pace. Massa is even more upset because he knows he's struggling. Again, look at Q conference.

What i'm surprised is that Massa should know he's been given confidence from the team, as his contract suggest (there was no blackmail... no if you let Fernando by BS... it was a straight contract extension). He has his team's support and he should know it. But right now, he is struggling and the team will not sacrifice their championship hopes to simply make him happy.

Frankly, I have never seen a driver struggle so hard on the tires like Massa was on the 2nd stint. For a moment i thought he had some car damage.
