Was anyone else quite as impressed as I was with Chandock with his Commentry on the BBC's coverage of FP1/2, the fact he is a living wikipedia meant we had the facts thick and fast on time and wasn't afraid of correcting people.

Brundle, Chandock, Davidson and Crofty do a wonderful job and if/when Chandock leaves Formula 1, it would be wonderful if he was to join the BBC to help with commentry.

It sounded like he had commentated before, because he was well timed with his comments and if something was to happen he would stop, speak about what happened and then carry on without it confusing people.

Well I didn't see the BBC coverage since I'm in Asia but yeah he did a commentary before with ESPNStar F1 coverage quite few times while he was in GP2 I believe. He was very articulate and seemed informative as well.

I remember very well because he was the first one to note that Timo Glock had slowed down at the final lap of Brazilian GP in which ultimately Lewis won his WDC.

I heard him for practice two, and yeah he was quality. He's really sharp at picking up important points, ie whose doing quick times, where, plus hes got a good descriptive technique going as well.

He was almost a regular on Star Sports, which is what we get in Asia. I agree, he's a quality commentator. Much better than a tool we've had for years, this guy called Steve Slater.

If he's not racing on track, I would definitely prefer him to come back and take Gary Andersons role...this guy just pisses me off everytime he opens his mouth.

That's what my dad watches for the F1 coverage when he's living in China.

He's a nice guy Chandok and very informative as well. I watched practice 1 & 2 and found his commentary very intuitive and a good sense of humour. In qualifying today I could see he was most put out form not being able to drive this weekend, but let's hope he is in the cockpit next weekend!

Thought he might have done commentary before alright, seem like a natural. Definaty another career for him when he's done driving.

yeah, he was great, I was really impressed, his knowledge was first class, he was sharp and was better able to articulate his points than davidson. If it wasn't for the fact he would have to loose his seat I'd like to see him do more broadcasts.

I watched it on the BBC and felt he did a decent job, special credit to him for continuing to answer questions regarding his future at Hispania Racing, I felt like clambering into the screen during the build-up to ask them to stop asking him the same questions, just differently worded. I felt he was a lot more open than other drivers, especially Vettel and Massa when they were interviewed, although they were in different situations so would obviously be under strict instructions on what to say and not say. Chandhok is a good person to have on the set and should be dropped for another race I don't see why he shouldn't be chosen for another race although I'd like to see him race in the Indian Grand Prix as I feel he'll do well there, if Hispania dropped him for that then they would be mad.

Looks like we will be seeing a lot more of him

Sakon Yamamoto will replace Karun Chandok for the second race in a row as Hispania continue rotating drivers.
Yamamoto replaced Chandhok in Germany and retired with mechanical problems but will replace the Indian driver again in Sunday's Hungarian Grand Prix.
Hispania have four drivers - Yamamoto, Chandhok, Bruno Senna and Christian Klien - under contract and will continue to choose them race-by-race.
Senna, who lost his seat to Yamamoto at Silverstone, also drives in Hungary.
Hispania are known to be struggling financially but it is believed they want to evaluate all their drivers before establishing a line-up for 2011.
It is likely that Klien will be given a run in at least one race as well.
After losing his race seat for the German Grand Prix Chandok, 26, told the BBC he expected to be back for races later in the season.
A team spokesperson said a decision on driver line-up for the Belgium Grand Prix on 29 August would be made nearer the time.
