Yes Ferrari is wrong about the incident, BUT:
Rule nit pickings, and "asking for clarification" aka "we did not break that rule" are part of the effort of trying to win. Not for decades has it been just car positions. It was Ferrari this time, but had it been McLaren or Red Bull then they too would have con through the same process in an attempt to get whatever points they can by administration, if they can't get it in the track.
And there is a little bit of merit to their request for a clearer rule on the administration of the penalty, but their motive is dubious.

No, but to be fair mate. I can see were everyone is coming from? it is sad and makes me rather angry that my team is trying to do stuff that will not happen.

Its a waste of time.

Anyway. If Ferrari dont get a great result in Germany, they can surrender the rest of the season, and focus on developping next yr car. Maybe also focus on the rules they dont like, so they can make a nice little dossier for discussion? :hehe:

Agree. If they do not improve by this race and get a win or even second? they do need to look @ next season. Once again another disappointing season of one win.

This latest Ferrari team are a bunch of jokers. GONE are the brains and brawn (pun intended) of Ferrari. GONE are the cool intelligent personnel who knew how to handle things at the heat of the moment. GONE are the great drivers of Ferrari (recently they only had 1 anyway which stayed with them till (temporary) retirement)

Now we have the temperamental Italians who are trying to pull strings back and forth and looking like complete fools in the process. The last "rallying" cry by Stefano was the icing of the cake. BELIEVE OR FIND NEW JOBS! Jeez, why don't you become a Hollywood movie producer!

Ferrari are goiinn dowwwwnnnnnn.....and I'm loving it.

Yes, some rules are not very clear. Others are open for interpretation, which i think is the fault (recently) of the Double Diffuser episode.

The Valencia tihng would have been challenged by EVERY team had it happened to them, and the Silverstone was simply very unfortunate because of the SC. Other than that, there's not too much to be implied or whatever...

If Ferrari wants new rules or certain things to benefit them as a team, i'm sure they will push to get it. If there are things that will benefit F1 as a whole, i'm sure they will push to go for it as well with FOTA. But one thing fo shure: the last 3 season's worth of changes and experiments have meant HUGE spending and uncertain results. Good for the spectacle, maybe not too good for the teams... kinda confusing for new fans.

they might no be the team that seemed able to win world championships with ease, but they aren't as poor as you make out.

My point is they are getting there. The team that failed to win anything in decades had dissapeared for a while, and this is the beginning of that dry era again. Just my prediction...no one's forced to agree with it. :P

No idea how you see that one. I'm certainly no Ferrari fan, but from the recent races, I saw Ferrari get screwed by a safety car and a horrific long time for the stewards to make a decision...and then I saw Ferrari get screwed on a penalty. They were not backmarkers by any stretch in either of those races. I replayed the pass a few times on Tivo and it sure looked to me like Alonso had to swerve to avoid a collision. He had the corner made, had the position taken and was forced off the track. You can clearly see his hands turn the wheel to take him off track when the tires overlapped.

If someone being passed can simply push the other driver off the track in order to save their position...what do you think the racing is going to look like? It's the same old Alonso haters (which means Hamster fanboys) who are going on and on in here about how Alonso cut the corner...but the in car video shows a completely different story, and SPEED was nice enough to show us that video. Alonso was forced to avoid by going off. In modern F1 there are very few passes where the car is completely overtaken by the apex. It's usually getting alongside and slightly forward and the passed driver gives way. I hope the next car that Hamster passes refuses to give way like happened to Alonso. The fanboys will change their tune when the shoe is on the other foot. That much is certainly fact.

Haven't seen the in-car video though... but i always saw it that Alonso had the corner won. Kubica simply didnt acknowledge he had lost the corner and kept on pushing. In the end, ferrari took the gamble because the move was at least possibly legal, so they end up getting hammered by the late decision. They should have given the P back simply cause it was a matter of lap or 2 for Alonso to pass him, regardless of the failure. The Ferrari was much quicker.

I'm soooo wishing for Hammy and Alonso head to head on the track.

That will be interesting :)
Hopefully Lewis doesnt clip like he's done Vettel a few times

Hey, if you two can get Ineluke and a couple others to come in and agree as well..you will have enough people for a british tea party. Other than that though, it doesn't matter. I notice how neither of you chose to address the question of what kind of racing we would have if pushing a driver off is a legit way of retaining a position.

Are you an F1 steward now?, no thought not. Alonso/Ferrari dropped a bollok, thought they'd be clever and ignore Charlie and his team, not so bloody clever now are they
