Hhmmm... Second driver to Jacques? Perhaps Damon fancies a go... Or Brundle? Unfortunately, I don't think Blundell would fit in a car these days. Lauda still looks like he'd fit in a modern F1 car...

In F1 Racing Villeneuve said that he wasn't going to sign for one of the new teams (I think it was USF1 actually) because they needed a driver with cash and he definitely wasn't that driver. So if he has no finance behind him then how he going to start up an F1 team?

If he does start up a team then I guess he could pressure Ferrari a bit for an engine supply, or Renault perhaps. But a Villeneuve Ferrari Formula One Team does sound like a classic name.

He can have Ferrari engines if he puts Jules Bianchi(sp) as a driver, actually seeing as they'll probably not make the grid maybe not.

Perhaps when he said "they needed a driver with cash" he meant instead of himself being on his uppers (which I very much doubt) that he's not prepared to pay for a race seat.

What, that they won't make the grid :hehe:

Still, I think Jules Bianchi has enough talent for an f1 seat and his Ferrari support will probably end up landing him one.

Cypher have withdrawn citing lack of funds. Couldn't afford the size of the bribe to Bernie?

Looks like Epsilon Euskadi's PR machine is hard at work. Well PR machine and actual work, it's good to see they're being a serious 13th team contender by actually showing they're working on a car design even before being picked. Got this at GP update.

Epsilon Euskadi completes first wind tunnel test

While the FIA has yet to decide who will become team number 13 at the grid in 2011 the Spanish outfit Epsilon Euskadi has already completed its first wind tunnel test with its possible Formula 1 chassis. The team hopes to join the F1 grid in 2011.

According to the team's chief engineer Sergio Rinland the team has enjoyed a lot of progression lately. “We have tested our model for the first time in the wind tunnel last week,” Rinland, who was formerly active at Benetton, Sauber and Arrows in Formula 1, told Corsa. “Everything looked fine and we are already well underway with our design now.”

Obviously the team has yet to decide its drivers when it will be allowed to enter the sport but according to Rinland the team is hoping to sign up Esteban Guerrieri. “It would be great to sign him up, but to be honest we're not very busy with our drivers at the moment,” he said.

It is expected that the FIA will make an announcement later this month what team will receive the 13th license to join the F1 grid. Apart from Epsilon Euskadi there are also teams such as Durango hoping to join F1

Rumours of an Epsilon Euskadi/HRT merger. Opens the door for another of the 13th team hopefuls? Is JV back in F1 suddenly a real possibility?? Perish the thought... :superyikes:

Maybe Massa will come in with a team in which he tells his team mate to move out the bloody way.

It seems that there will be no 13th team in F1 next season, seems that nether potential new team have enough cash to fund a year in F1, the FIA making sure we don't have another Campos Meta/HRT fiasco?!?!...

"There will not be a 13th team on the grid in 2011 because neither Spanish team Epsilon Euskadi or former world champion Jacques Villeneuve's collaboration with Italian team Durango have enough cash to fund an F1 project." - Snippet taken from the BBC F1 gossip column [ http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/motorsp ... 972743.stm ]
