No, Schumi's not too old. I've rather enjoyed seeing him race again. At least he's smiling a lot more than he used to. He seems to be enjoying himself. Let the dog have his day. It could be worse... He could be Jacques! :yikes:

Schumi definately seems to have gone a bit backwards since Mercedes made the upgrades to "suit him". I wonder if Barbie's had a quiet girly row with Brawn at all?

I don't think he is too old but he is struggling with getting to grips with modern F1; two years is a long time to be out of a fast moving sport like F1. He certainly is showing signs of race rust but if he does stay I can see him being better next season; but that said I find it surprising that he has been so slow on the uptake driving a modern F1 car!

In the grand scheme of things, he's not old at all. But f1 drivers are getting younger and younger these days.
I think he's performance is due to absence rather than his actual age. Rubens isnt that much younger, but he's driving better than ever.

At my 39 years of age, I wish I was as fit as Michael is. I'm not too shabby, but damn, he looks damn good. He even has almost no wrinkles! What's up with that? :hehe:

Not too old, just hurt by the current set-up in F1.

With limited testing he has not been able to get to grips with the current spec tyres or shake off any rust that may have formed :P

The principal reason for a lot of Schumacher's problems is the tyres and car design.

He needs a car with strong front end grip for all conditions but he also needs the tyres to also be able to withstand that sort of driving style.

Bridgestone's current spec isn't very good for that so he'll be hoping Pirelli's are.

If Eddie Irvine is to be believed, the engine freeze has badly hurt him.

I think he cant cope without the best car, owning his team mate, owning the tyre company, doing testing all the time, and a high standard of competition. Its that not his age.

Not too old. limited testing, the way F1 is now & and the car not being top class are the major reason why he isnt up there. Hopefully by 2011 Mercedes build a half decent car and Schmui is abit more used to the modern F1

He's not too old... just out of shape and came into a whole different beast with a not competitive car in a surging team/management structure. If by the end of the season he's still struggling, or if he doesnt do well next season... ciao: Should have stayed at Ferrari.

Why's that?

Irvine said pretty recently that Schumacher was perhaps not as good at testing aero parts as people think, but he was extremely good at engine testing and development...
