Yeah first year guy finishes ahead in the championship standings, bettered by his rookie team mate

I can tell you one thing fo' sure: the Mclaren of seasons after Fernando would have gotten better results had he been there. Everyone knows it, even little Lew. Same way the Renault and now ferrari are getting better results than the car 'deserves'.

 youre really a one eyed Fernando lamb arent you!!! McLaren won a championship the year after he left or are you blind? and reasons for lack of constructor points was in Heikki's corner! This year with two strong world champion drivers is proving fruitful for McLaren and guess what Fernando is not there!

1pt. On the same total one of them got a penalty for a pit blocking move incident... and the team reckoned "they were racing Fernando" :nono: hmmm i say they were even (to make things simpler).

Do i seem like a one eyed lamb? gee that's not my intention... but if it looks that way fine...

I think getting the upper hand in the British grand prix means a lot to both drivers (Jenson and Lewis that is).

Yup..

Anyway, didn't get to watch FP but heard that Hamilton is wringing the car by the neck and getting into some off track excursions too! Didn't hear much about Jenson though.. I wonder if he has this all planned out? I wonder, how does he plan to win this thing?

yeah, he is really wringing that car! i think going off track is part of their testing programme: gotta test that new diffuser under all conditions.

In any case, the lewster does seem to have a pretty good plan to win the race. Unlike Jenson, who was probably testing for rain set up. He probably 'knows' it will rain while everyone wasted their track time on dry set ups. One step ahead of everyone there. We know who'll be laughing when it rains...............

Jenson said he had Balance issues. His rear end had low grip according to him so he took some down force off the front wing to compensate. If I were him I would not even think of removing downforce.. I would ADD downforce to the rear instead because if rain falls you will need all the downforce you can get so as it stands Button is seriously compromised if there are showers tomorrow.

Hamilton now  God King of qualy.. he shows why he is really the best driver out there, putting the car where it belongs! The team should have given him the upgrades for qualy, he could have managed the imbalance I'm sure.

Are you not entertained? I don't understand  The boy slapped the car on the second row 0.1 seconds behind Alonso's Ferrari!! I am convinced he is the greatest right now.. I don't care anymore! :boobies:

We're not even at the business end of the season yet and Jenson is tripping. I would say it's still an honour to be Lewis' no.2 though. Welcome to your real role Jenson. :wavey:

EDIT: to F1ea...

Sorry mate, Lewis is ready too. Apologise for dashing your hopes so early... :D

"Today, if it was ever important to be at my best in qualifying, then this was it," said Hamilton.

"I honestly feel it was the best lap I've done since I've been in Formula One.

"We've struggled all weekend. I've never run wide or gone off at a track so many times through Friday practice and this morning.

"But I've just remained optimistic all weekend, and as to where it has come from, I honestly think it has come from the fans.

"The optimism I've had is probably a lot more than I've ever had before, and I've carried that with me.

"Bit by bit I've adjusted the car, and although it wasn't perfect, I really strangled its neck and pulled out every little bit.

"I'm proud of the car. When I came in I was like 'well done, well done'."

Hamilton will now look to his car's race pace to elevate him onto the podium, and hopefully retain his championship lead, if not win the race.

"The gap to them (Red Bull) is nine tenths of a second to me, but that's how they always are in qualifying," added Hamilton.

"In Q3 they always pull out another half a second, quite a chunk of time, and we know why and we will catch them eventually.

"But in the race it's slightly different. Maybe they are going to have the race pace on us.

"I'm happy to do the rain dance tonight because I could happily do another 2008 here (referring to his win that year).

"It's really down to getting a good start because it's virtually impossible to overtake on this track. It really is.

"It's even more impossible than it was before I think because they have added another couple of faster corners, which is very, very hard to follow through.

"So we will have to rely on the team to do the best job they have ever done at pit stops, and for me to pull out every ounce, every millisecond during stints.

"I'm ready, so let's go for it."
