Another possible factor for excitement is the bumpy track and the wind. I have not watched the FP sessions, but reading it on F1live several guys have made mistakes and are getting some interesting angles...

Red Bull fast... maybe they are not sandbagging anymore. Or are they??!!:eek:
Ferrari not looking too bad. Mclaren seem to be struggling with some of the upgrades they brought...

<Edit> FP2: that's your podium for the race there :)

No point reading into the practice times mate. Hamilton kept going off the track on his soft tyre run too. The Red Bull is able to carry way more speed around so many corners though, judging by the onboard shots! Nearly flat through the new Abbey!

The wind is catching out loads of people.

Also, i hate the stupid little re-entry passage they put at Chapel, loads of guys are going off and losing NOTHING because of this bit of astro turf. Lame.

Also:

BBC F1 analyst Anthony Davidson: Sakon Yamamoto is leaning his head across on only the second session on a Friday. It really is a sure sign that he has no strength left in his neck. There is no way to train your neck with the lack of testing and it affects the muscles and nerves that run down to the rest of your body. It is savage on the neck."

L.O.L. What a joke.

hehe i know. Even further.. Webber was about 0.5 sec clear of Alonso... which means if RB is able to get such margin, it will be tough for anybody to challenge them. More on the Mclaren issue i think is definitely down to them adjusting the set up and getting runs on the loads of new parts.

L.O.L. What a joke.

That would be the most embarrasing exit from a GP ever... a driver has to stop due to the neck not holding. Specially a guy that was just brought in to please management... that is overly lame!

They want to bring him in.. get him to test, like other teams are doing. Then give him the chance. I'm sure Senna would have no grudge if the issue and the team make clear is all about $. ie not slamming his performance.

Anyway... i think the HRT will fail before Sakon's neck gives...
That's a new interesting reliability challenge :)

Both McLarens off the pace, I just hope they were running a series of tests on the new upgrades. Love the new section

Mclaren were testing today, hence the 10 lap stints to get data.

Id imagine Mclaren test out qualifying tomorrow morning. Whoever is down their today got scorcher, i live 5 miles away and im sweating buckets!

Practice is practice not qualifying, be stupid to judge on the friday.

Friday is a perfect day to judge who is slow and who is not. Today told us that Red Bull are the fastest followed by McLaren & Ferrari. Mercedes are much closer than they have been over the last two races too, expect them to feature in Q3.We can also expect Renault to keep Mercedes honest.

Don't be stupid and not try judge who is fast, its always good fun to try figure out roughly where everyone stands.

Agreeing with Hexa.
Testing shows a little bit who is fast and who is not. Not the perfect picture, not everything. But at least something to go by.

Except for Red Bull, which actually........ their pratice pace more or less goes similar to their general race pace. Its their Q pace which is miles ahead of everyone and their own race pace anyways and is never reflected on P.

Maybe Mercedes really got an upgrade that works now, and that reflects a bit of improvement on their P times. ferrari is definitely behind Red Bull but better than it was at Turkey. Perhaps Mclaren had some interesting test plan. But if they (Mc) do well in P3, you can be sure they will have good pace for the race and/or Q as well. Really, the biggest sandbaggers are Red Bull, and i think its more related to their secret they only use in Q.

Who is fast? as practice suggest: Red Bull. Ferrari and Merc behind them, with maybe a surprise challenge from Renault. Mclaren uncertain due to the upgrades, could be a lot faster, depending on what their programme was. I say watch them on P3, that will be the guide for their form.
