He's a child in a big boys car......

Prodigy.

:hehe::yes:
So they dont know where, or when, or if he was speeding? Mmmmm. I trust Switzreland have laws concerning slander and liable as well as speeding?

Switizerland hates cars i expect Hamilton was doing 31mph in a 30mph as i heard thats a hanging offience there.

I speed, I bet you Speed DD everyone speeds.

get over it.

Yeah, I used to speed like crazy... in a minivan of all things.

Image
(This isn't my own picture of the beast, but it looked like this one.)

It only went up to about 100 MPH or so, but I did it in a 60 MPH zone (160+ KPH in a 96.6 KPH zone). I was about 20 years old at the time, though, and have grown out of it since then. (I still want to go fast, but it's illegal, and I don't like blowing money on speeding tickets.) Lewis is like 25 right now, which still isn't terribly old, and there's plenty of folks his age that still drive with a heavy lead foot, so if it makes Lewis a horrible person then a huge chunk of the human race is terrible just the same.

I agree with the perspective that he should be careful about his behavior behind the wheel because of his role in the public eye, especially since he's known for driving, but at the same time traffic offenses are still something most of us are guilty of and don't make us monsters.

Even if James got caught speeding, he would of been able to charm his way out of a ticket

James Hunt was the stereotypical eccentric public school boy, who was annoyingly good at everything,

Lewis Hamilton is the stereotypical spoilt brat.

I remember reading some time ago that to be a super licence holder; that a valid road drivers licence is also required...

I don't know where you read this. I recall that Jenson Button was an F1 driver before he had a road license.

To me this just shows the naivety of Puss-in-boots. But make the most of it Hamilton bashers ;)

I'm sure that I read this on the BBC website when JB joined F1 and the FIA made a special exception for JB as he has completed enough testing to obtain a super licence. But looking at wikipedia I see that a road licence isn't required to obtain a super licence, maybe I misread the article... but it seems odd to be able to race without a road licence!

Might seem odd, but you'd think the criteria for a super licence would be stringent enough so that the fia would have enough faith in someone eligible for it without having to rely on the person being granted a normal licence by their nation.

A road license, at least here in the states is only required when you're driving on public roads. On private, closed roads you don't need a license and can be any age to get behind the wheel.

No you don't...many drivers get into F1 without the regular old driving license. It doesn't make sense for it to be a prerequisite to attain a superlicense anyway!

Are we all just 'a step' away from the superlicense then? Gee.
