Yes, that pit call was a strange one for someone acknowledged to be one of the best strategists in F1. It also surprises me that Michael didn't veto the call; MS is another not known for poor strategy. I believe that the red light was a nasty surprise to both. It would have been a nasty surprise to the leaders if it had worked!
After the Valencia GP one can safely say Peter Sauber is the new Brawn. Brawn must have left his brains in those old red overalls gathering dust in the wardrobe, Michael was nicely pinned by his own team this time. And they have shifted blame on the pitlane red light...
