Yes, that pit call was a strange one for someone acknowledged to be one of the best strategists in F1. It also surprises me that Michael didn't veto the call; MS is another not known for poor strategy. I believe that the red light was a nasty surprise to both. It would have been a nasty surprise to the leaders if it had worked!
