Well in the end Ferrari is greatness, not Hamilton, McLaren and anyone else, and in the real world outside this forum, most people are seeing how Hamilton is a little cheat. He has been a cheat from the start. Once a cheater, always a cheater.

Blah, blah, blah. this is getting extremly tedious and boring. Change the record

where are the Kovalainen bashers out there??

Kovalainen is a and is a complete for ruining Mark Webber's face; the fool should be banned from F1!

BETTER?

yup. Kovalainen clearly WEAVED. He should get at least a 5 place grid position penalty for next race.
Which means he'll start from P30.

Crap, man, you made me laugh out loud in the office.

[What's Burning?]

Clealry the backmarkers stuffed Alonso up in Canada and clearly Alonso's race was ruined by the safetycar in Valenica. He respected the rules and came 8th. Hamilton cheated and got second. How is that fair is beyond me but what I do know there seems to be around 90% of anti Ferrari people on this forum who will write whatever nonsense they want to deny this and try to belittle Ferrari. He has been a cheat from the start. Once a cheater, always a cheater. In 2007 he was involved with the team that got fined 1 million dollars for stealing Ferrari documents, in 2008 he cheated at Spa, in 2009 he cheated and lied in Australia, this year he is a cheat in Canada, cheated in Malaysia as well, drove dangerous alongside Vettel in exiting the pits in one race and then did the same with Alonso in Canada. There is nothing wrong with the Ferrari mentality. It is the McLaren mentality that is wrong because their mentlity is to cheat clear and simple.

It's hard to respond to your posts since they're always so... passionate. That's the Ferrari way of course. But you can't seriously call someone a cheat and that's all. Was Alonso a cheat when he agreed to let his teammate crash a car so he could get a win? I don't know nothing I just drive here.

Think before you passion post.

It's not so much Stefano Domenicali that annoys me; it's Luca di Montezemolo that really gets on my nerves, that man never shuts up, I am fed up of all his whining, making excuses for why his team didn't win the race; man up; sort out your car instead of whining at other teams or the FIA when things don't go your way!

Ferrari seems only to be comfortable in a dominant role, of course one team dominating a season makes for crappy racing. What's embarrassing is their lack of progress compounded by a run of tough luck, consequently they're going to want to vomit over anything that doesn't go their way, it's easier to blame everything but yourself.

I'd love to see Ferrari become competitive and challenge for podiums and for the WDC and WCC that's what makes for great racing. In my opinion, right now they're more of an embarrassment to the sport than they back markers they spend so much time mocking.

In the following diatribe, I draw parallels to other governing bodies. The following I believe to be true, but I'm not totally sure. They are at least logical.

My take on what happens when an F1 Safety Car comes out on track: Safety Car graphic comes on the teams telemetry screens, then the safety car comes out sometime after... Everyone behind - out of view of the safety car - pits (if they haven't yet passed pit lane entrance), having been told to do so legally by the team director. Everyone in plain view of the safety (SC) car has to queue up after it, whlle those in front get to set a cracking lap and pit when they want to. This opens up a couple of observations and recommendations.

1) It is the team directors who decide when the team pits. It was foolhardy for Ferrari to pit when the pitlane was choked. They should have stayed out and pitted when it was most advantageous to them.

2) In my NASCAR experience, the pitlane is closed when the PACE CAR (a more appropriate name IMHO) comes out. The cars fall in line in the order determined by leader board positioning at time of pace car exits pit lane.

3) Again in NASCAR the positions are frozen as soon as the pace car comes out, which means also that the pace car is injected just before the leader. Any cars that are a lap down have the opportunity, I think, to unlap themselves and then pit, pit lane being opened in front of the leader when the entire field - throttled by the pace car - comes round. The whole idea of the NASCAR pace car is to use racing incidents as a reset button to restore the field to conditions simiar to what prevailed before the racing incident, so that the spectators get the renewed spectacle of passing again and again. It does to me make for more interesting racing and underlines the skill of the best drivers.

One would think that the prallels drawn here would be mirrored in the F1 rule book. Why, if the above observations and assumptions are correct, did the SC come out when it did? And why is there no pitlane restriction when safety car comes out?

[racechick]

Because the FIA like messing about with rules. They love rules but mostly have too many, too ambiguous or just plain unworkable. there have been pitlane restictions in the past. they come and go.

Kovi weaved back and forth four times before being rear-ended but Webber never moved to the right of track far enough to pass himm safetly. IMO, both Webber and Kovi should have to sit out the next race.

Amazing amount of Ferrari haters. Must be a lot of old Mclaren fans from the Schumi days. No need to be bad sports, you're being just as bias as all the Ferrari fan boys.

The Valencia situation was another balls up by the FIA; the safety car failing to pick up Vettel, Hamilton may have [tried to] take advantage of FIA loopholes but as mentioned; Ferrari themselves would have done the same given the situation. Luca di Montizemolo and to a lesser extent Stefano Domenicali are consistently bitching about rules and other teams/drivers when things don't go their way; if they put all that energy into making a better car they would be at the front by some margin!!!

Agree that if they channeled all the energy from their various 'hissy fits' they'd have made better progress. It's a little sad they behave like this and have had to resort to copying f-ducts and exhaust systems to get back on level terms. With a team of that size it would have been nice to see something original on the car.

And don't get me started on them bypassing the testing regs......think they need to be introduced to the pot and kettle concept!

[Hammer278]

Latest news today - Luca DiMontezemolo fuming over Valencia result.

It's actually quite a funny thing. When Ferrari gets some bad luck thanks to coincidences or rival teams, this guy starts bleating out his nonsense and breaking his TV sets.

It's easy to see, the cool methodological approach has vanished. It's replaced by....I don't know what. Since Jean Todt's exit, Ferrari's reliability/development rate/drivers are no longer top notch.

I was expecting Ferrari to dominate in Valencia, looking at all their promises about the new exhaust layout and how the car is 0.8 seconds faster compared to previously. Obviously, they didn't dissapoint me by not keeping to their promises.

I follow a lot of sports forums and this one is the craziest hands down, in other forums people give objective criticism and have always good arguments, in here though, people write stuff like when I was a nine year old "lewis best others suck". What could be the reason behind this?

Think you should check out Planet F1 forum if you think this is crazy. Having spent a while reading posts on each forum, this one is by far the more reasonable of the two. Just check out how many locked threads there are after the weekend on PF1!!

Sports will always create fans and that spawns extreme viewpoints, look at the aggro between Ford and Holden fans on Oz

Planetf1 is by far the worst I've seen

Of course Alonso was a cheat regarding the crash incident at Renault. But that was at Renault and not at Ferrari, thus why do I care. Actually I do care because that robbed Massa of victory in that race. After the scandal was revealed, the points for Singapore 2008 should of been annulled as Alonso or should I say Renault fixed the win and cheated. Annulling that race would mean Massa is the true 2008 World Champion. Anyway that is another story but you must understand I dont really care too much for Alonso alone. If he brings Ferrari glory, then he can be an idle like Mr Schumacher. Until then, all I care is that Alonso or Massa wins and do so for the glory of the greatness that Ferrari is. And what Alonso did in the past for other teams is irrelevant to Ferrari. That is a fact.
