The SC didn't fail to pick up Vettel, the SC comes ontrack when the race director feels it is needed once on track it then will pick up the leader. It was just coincidental that Vettel was ahead and Lewis was side by side with it as it came on track.

The Valencia situation was another balls up by the FIA; the safety car failing to pick up Vettel, Hamilton may have [tried to] take advantage of FIA loopholes but as mentioned; Ferrari themselves would have done the same given the situation. Luca di Montizemolo and to a lesser extent Stefano Domenicali are consistently bitching about rules and other teams/drivers when things don't go their way; if they put all that energy into making a better car they would be at the front by some margin!!!

I like that. Really the FIA are to blame imho aswell as others that Lewis should have recieved a 10sec stop and go penalty. Clearly as Matchett stated the FIA could have used other means to determine what penalty would be sufficient/most appropriate that would actually penalize Lewis within the standings.

Its apparent that Ferrari are producing a better car now but it's clearly still not on form with the RedBull or the McLaren.

The SC should have comeout sooner, CW slipped up imo.

Anyway on to the next race I say.

I think the Safety Car deployment was really messed-up. They should review whatever rules apply to that, it's (as usual) very confusing.

That's the point; it failed to pick up the leader; in that case all the leading drivers should have been allowed to pass the SC so it can pick up Vettel, it was another FIA balls up; the SC was out of position and the wrong actions were taken, Hamilton, Alonso etc should have been waved past so the SC could pick up Vettel as he came back around!

The Mclaren mentality:

- Every single event that does not benefit their team is a CONSPIRACY
- Every single dubtious move by any non-Mclaren driver is cheating
- Every single driver that beats any Mclaren driver is the enemy, and therefore a cheater
- Every single person that does not bow down to their drivers is a hater
- Every single event that benefits their drivers/team is a racing incident
- Every single event that hurts their drivers/team is a conspiracy, act of cehating and the deliberate actions of an organized crime organization
- Every single opinion comes with the relevant Mclaren logic of choice
- mclaren fans can attack any non-Mclaren driver, but mclaren drivers are untouchable. Or else, feel the wrath.

that might the mentality of some fans, but i'd think you'd be hard pressed to find Ron or Whitmarsh comming out with any of them.

I'm not talking about the Ferrari Fans Mentality i'm talking about the way the actual team conducts itself to the media.

I see what you mean, and yes I have to say Whitmarsh and Ron are honorable guys. Real assets to F1.
But look at Domenicali's media statements here:

You'll see its pretty reasonable; more or less inline with what any other decent principal would say.

Ron could whine a bit now and again, mostly justified imo but probably not publicly.
#204914
It's not so much Stefano Domenicali that annoys me; it's Luca di Montezemolo that really gets on my nerves, that man never shuts up, I am fed up of all his whining, making excuses for why his team didn't win the race; man up; sort out your car instead of whining at other teams or the FIA when things don't go your way!

 Bad bad bad.

I would say that's the blind fanatic's mentality. AKR, anyone? I'm a McLaren (and Hamilton) fan, but you'd be hard-pressed to see me act like that.

The thing is, I mostly find that the people who think that way are either Ferrari or McLaren fans. I've been trying to look for someone who acts like that while being a fan of Virgin GP.

yup. Kovalainen clearly WEAVED. He should get at least a 5 place grid position penalty for next race.
Which means he'll start from P30.
