A VERY VERY expensive lighting grid but I think it will be awesome to witness.

I want to know how the cars can race in the dark, I take it they will have seperate cars with lights on for this race?

Max - Ron, Jean, park your cars at that corner and leave the headlights on, Flavio, you're over there......

Maybe not. How do footballers play in the dark?

Its funny - have a night race and spend hundreds of thousands on installing lights that will replicate what they can have for free during the day (the sun)!!!!!!!!!!!

The NASCAR night race's have become very popular with the fan's so maybe the FIA are just trying to add another deminsion to the sport. I feel it wont catch on though in F1.

Worth a try though, like you say adds a new dimension. I'm looking forward to seeing it. Plus, I THINK it may mean a better time shown in UK :)

that will be strange, a live race shown in the uk where it is daylight but dark in the country of the race, would be very interesting to see

It seems they've got loads of money to put this GP together, including claiming back some of the waterfront as well.

I'm not sure how a night race would work, Bernie no doubt wants it at such a time for mainland Europe. Can you imagine all the flashlights going off as the drivers navigate the circuit? One large speed camera.

They'd probably have to take down the speed cameras so they don't explode from overload when an F1 car goes by. :P

Does anyone think this, and the other street race will take away the magic of Monaco?

Very much doubt it. Monaco is the epitomy of style and what most people who are not fans think of when you mention Grand Prix, Singapore Night might get as bigger reputation but i doubt it will ever overshadow the glitz and glamour of Monaco
