I thought some of you lot would have known better than to get wound up by AKR by now...! :hehe:

No doubt Hamilton deserved to win, but Alonso was unlucky not to finish higher than he did - not that that is taking anything away from Button's drive, if you get me. Any of the top 5 would have deserved a podium (all for different reasons) in my book!

Nah, not getting wound up. But reminders can be a good thing. :hehe: And I agree with that last sentence. This was a damn good race! No cruising to the finish line for anyone.

That's the way I like 'em!

Fantastic race. All over the field......

The only annoyance was dumbass Buemi holding Alonso twice to get him lose position :banghead:
But at least Alonso was reasonably fighting for the win, which is good for the championship as it is far from over.

When he got passed by Button? It was Chandhok, not Buemi.

Ah, I thought it was Buemi again... here I was slagging off poor Buemi who actually had a great race...

Ferrari fans are bleeding through the wounds. C'mon people, Alonso did a solid third. Today, McLaren was superior. There are other days where Ferrari is superior.

Get over it.

And Lewis rocks. Sorry people, face it, he is pretty damn good.

It was close and like you say a solid 3rd challenging all the time, that must be encouraging because the ferrari was not as good as Mclaren and even so, Alonso had the "feel" for getting a win. its the conditions that led to those two silly passes... :irked: anyway, I dont think he would have been able to hold both the Mclarens regardless... but still :irked:

Lewis had a great race, but somehow I think Jenson had the best race out of everyone... Whitmarsh must be laughing in his dreams; signing Jenson was a jackpot in all areas.

Oh **** forgot it was Valencia next :banghead:

Yup, I will be surprised if it is'nt a borefest! :yikes:

It will be a good race. I can feel it :)

Truth.

It still seems that hating on Hamilton is the cool/hip/in/popular thing to do, but the guy's got talent. He's still got some growing up to do, and he's taken some risks that have bitten him in the bottom, and perhaps he can be too aggressive, but he won the 2008 WDC, dominated the latter part of the 2009 season after McLaren got their car half-way straightened out, and has climbed from several positions down in the 2010 championship to leading it, not to mention that he only lost his F1 debut season by a single point. Coming within just one point of winning your very first F1 season isn't too shabby at all.

MS has derived no joy from Montreal since HHF quit. Is there anyone else whos girlfriend he married and running in the midfield that he can push off on the way out of the pits?

A bit harsh :D !

Holy crap did I call that or what!

I got out of bed and watched a few minutes, Webber was dominating.

What happened?

webber's tyres went but he had to run them for long enough so that he when he switched to the soft compound, he wouldn't be on them too long. so he lost all his gains on hamilton by the time he pitted, and then when he came out again he was behind the leading pack of four, and never seemed to get back up to pace.

interestingly, vettel seemed to have problems, and webber should have been able to overtake him by then end, but it seems they resigned for 4th/5th and just cruised the race out. why wouldn't webber push on till the end to take the 4th spot he deserved?

If you read the post race comments, Webber said he wanted to save his engine for the next round

Easily the best race of the season in my view. Lots of passes, different strategies for a change and a little bit of naughtiness made for a very entertaining race, and all without any rain or a single safety car!

Obviously, as a McLaren/Hamilton fan, I'm thrilled that Hamilton won but there were plenty of other great performances throughout the field. It was even nice to see Alonso on the podium.

I particularly enjoyed Schumacher losing two places right at the end, putting him out of the points. It served him right for being a bad sport.

Hamilton is such a nob

AGREED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

he had a nice overtake on alonso

By the way, Alonso pit pass on Hamilton was a lot more exiciting than Hamilton's boring bullpoo pass. And once again why wasn't Hamilton penailised for dangerous pit release? Hamilton has gotten away with enough this season. He is a cheat just like his team McCheaters. Inreality he should of been penalised for that so he isn't a winner on merit in this race. A winner by cheating..........

Irony? I bet you didn't complain when Schumacher was quite literally lapping the field with one hand and having a hand on the title BEFORE the half-distance race and when Schumacher's team-mate was told to let him win the race. It's McLaren's turn to have some glory and bum-fun with the FIA. So either shut-up or put-up!

McLaren has alreadynhad their turn at this. In the mid to late 80s and early 90s. I do not want to see those days ever again. But Schumacher-Ferrari type days, those I do not mind. :D

At least both Force India's managed to finish in the points, despite seemingly having big red targets painted on them at times.

From my looks of Massa v Luzzi, it just seems bad luck, Massa got squeezed by Button on his right, so couldn't move over enough for Luzzi to have room who was on the inside. Not blaming Button though, doubt he could've seen what was going on on Massa's other side. But I think Massa should've done what Alonso did against Vettle at the start, realised there wasn't really enough room despite being faster, and backed of a little. Altough, I'd say ultimately just don't qualify so poorly.

This was good stuff from Alonso, pushing it with no mistakes, damn disappointed with how he was held up though, particularly by a Lotus I think, when Hamilton dived into the pits and Alonso put in a 1m.19 to try and leapfrog Hamilton. Love how Alonso gestures mid race though. The Mclaren's ultimately were faster though, and it showed.

Mclaren 1-2, two consistent drivers is paying of for them, though at least it seems redbull have been caught and Ferrari are still in with a chance of getting ahead.

Shumacher on Massa, wtf? Pretty angry with that, Massa deserved points.

Also, not mentioned yet, kubica swiping Sutil's wing as he made a late dive into the pits, no punishment for that?

Chandock finished I think, which is good.

Finally, I have no idea how redbull do it, I wonder if Button or Alonso was in Vettles car he would've finished a lot higher.

Canada usually produces a good race and this race is no exception. It's great to see another team other than Red Bull at the front, although this race did have Mark Webber leading the race for a while, even Sebastien Buemi lead the lead for a couple of laps. Schumacher's driving was attrocious; if he ever deserved a penalty it was this race; blatantly driving Kubica and Massa off the road. Despite all the talk of Schumacher claiming a podium in Canada, it seems that Michael is past it (in my opinion) and it was a mistake to try to make a comeback; things have changed an awful lot since he retired and Canada's performance just showed his desperation.

I would put the blame more on his car and not his skill (imo).

That doesn't excuse his behaviour in the race; his team mate has the same equipment and wasn't running other drivers off the road to defend his position.

Yes he did make some very questionable moves and I think he was getting very frustrated.
