Forgive me if this has already been posted but I haven't read these forums in months. Does anyone feel that now Mclaren have two British superstars on board and have broken ties with Mercedes they are going to be entering a new golden era? I have felt this since the start of the season TBH, everything seems just perfectly set up to be so. I get the feeling we and Mclaren are going to look back in a few years time and think, "Oh yeah, those were the days". I guess it was a master stroke snatching Jensen from Brawn GP.

TBH, when McLaren signed Jenson I was sceptical, but I was totally wrong. The 2 drivers work well as a team and obviously have a healthy respect for each other whilst still pushing for the win.

If Button can be kept happy with McLaren as well as Hamilton then I can see them being there for many years and I don't want something like Prost/Senna or Alonso/Hamilton where they was fighting for position and especially with Alonso in Hungry 2007!

Button and Hamilton respect each other and each others talents. Alosno could not accept someone being as fast/faster than him.

Things look set fair for McLaren

Yeah Button is a relaxed guy and won't let relationship get in the way, I've started to like this guy since he moved to McLaren.

As for Golden Age, I dunno. Red Bull is consistently getting stronger and stronger, although I have faith for McLaren and they're done a fantastic job over the season and they're continuing to do good job.

Jenson is a genuinely nice guy from what I seen. Lewis has a lot of respect for him, and they really seem to get along very well.

Alonso doesn't get along with anyone. It's sad; he's one of the best drivers, maybe the more complete one in the grid right now no questions asked. But his attitude doesn't help one bit.

Alonso and Vettel in a team would be a fun thing to watch...

We very well might be on for another Mclaren golden age, Lewis and Jenson are not in the best car yet there ahead of the guys who do, have won 4 races between them, Lewis the balls out racer, Jenson the strategist, I must admit Jenson has impressed me more this year than last year, Lewis was really on it this weekend, height of his powers and Jenson was right there behind him, not bad. Mclaren must be dead chuffed with Jenson, brings into stark contrast Heikki's performance the last 2 years.

Yeah, Jensen took a big risk going to Mclaren when Brawn were so strong but it paid off. It was one of those times where he had to take a life changing decision I guess and he risked it by going for glory and it paid off. He thoroughly deserves it, I can remember his nightmare with Honda like it was yesterday. Two nice guys in the same team, yet they keep the competition on between eachother which is not always easy to handle, yet they have handled it brilliantly so far

Absolutely spot on

Depends what you mean by golden age. Cause the likes of 1988, 92, 96, 04 and so on will never be seen again.

Besides, McLaren don't even have the fastest car at the moment, it's just Red Bull fecking up that is keeping them and Alonso in it really.

Im mighty impressed with jenson, I think McLaren have scored a winner signing him. he and Lewis are perfect together. I wasnt sure about jenson before this year but now I htink its a great pairing for Mclaren.

One only has to look at the post-race interview with Lewis and Jenson to know that McLaren has something special here.

I always thought it was a great signing. Both because Heikki had just been terrible and because there would be no tension in the team. In any case, i think Jenson will end the season with more pts than Lewis.

:bs:
when Jenson won the first race Lewis did some little rant. When jenson challenged him for the win in turkey, Lewis made his good pout all over the press conference and the podium ceremony. Things are going well for Mclaren as a team because jenson is very mature, not because of Lewis.
