Yup the first game is just a warm up... The main event is when England gets dumped in the knock out stages. I knew they wouldnt be good enough and I've been proven right. Defensively dodgy and as soon as you come up against better teams yot will lose

At least we get our main event!
and when it doesn't go well they immediately try to dig up some facts from 1966 like it was only yesterday.

That you did, but that isn't the problem that most people outside of England end up supporting your opponents. It's the fact that the media and many fans immediately assume that England will win the entire tournament with ease and when it doesn't go well they immediately try to dig up some facts from 1966 like it was only yesterday.
Face facts: England are one of the top sides in Europe, but as they are highly seeded they usually end up in a qualifying group with smaller teams. So prior to the tournament they usually do not play Europe's other top sides. I expect them to get through their group this year - but wait until they come up against a side which can attack along the ground....
Well that's what I heard anyway on one of those CBBC shows that prove myths wrong!
Dude, no England fan is assuming we'll win with ease!I agree that we have to play to our potential to even have a chance of getting somwhere. But we can still do it, and there's nothing wrong with optimism. Why hold it against us regular people (in a manner of speaking) if the media are a bunch of tools? That's what i just don't get.

Assuming you will win it is enough TBH, rather than take everything one game at a time and progressing through the competition alot of people have already assumed you have already reached the final and won that as well, as for the media they have alot to answer for even up here, the constant mention of 1966 is another thing which pisses people off as well, we get the same TV and same adverts as you guys do and every second advert has some kind of England theme to it, which leads me to my next point, just how many f,ing Mars bars did they actually give John Barnes to do that advert? ??He's a big lad now ehh?
