data dont lie so back up your claims BMWpower with some data. I dont recall Vettel making .4 a lap on Webber before he was told to conserve fuel. Remember Vettel pitted before Webber so his tyres would have had more wear from doing a few extra laps so tyre wear would not be a cause.

just seems to me youre a Vettel fan trying to make good of his stuff up that it wasnt his fault

I'm looking forward to this data to prove that Vettel was closing at such a vast rate of knots before Webber was required to change his fuel mixture...

Dj_polly; that's a great spot about the pit stop policy which just adds weight to the rumour that Vettel is being favoured over Webber!

Bud you need reading glasses? I said neither Vettel or Webber is to blamed but rather the team should have acted quickly before the problem araised. If you gonna quote me, at least go back and read all my post please and get it right, I never said Vettel gained .4 a lap, I said he gained .4 on two laps, that's .2 each lap and .1sec before the incident. This is not speculation, this is what the team said to the press and if you want to read the release or even bothered to read my previous posts, its in there, but knowing you probably won't I have an except below for you, its either true or not its up to you but if you believe that its not true and that Horner and RedBull is lying about their data then we can speculate forever.

"Horner also revealed that when Vettel caught up with Webber--the German star gained 0.4 second in the previous two laps--Webber asked the team to tell Vettel to back off.

sorry mate thats not DATA thats words of a man whose explanation of the accident has changed every day since the race....

in that article though it says a difference of .2 a lap with mixture settings set to running leaner .2 a lap equals .4 in two laps.

Yes, I have been reading your posts; you keep on referring to data that you don't have... As Bud has already pointed out; Horner has changed his story a number of times since Turkey; how can we believe a man that has a different version of events for each interview he does? Would things have been the same if Vettel was leading and Webber was catching at .2 every lap, given Horner's inconsistencies in interviews, I would have to say NO (and that is speculation on my part).

This will ultimately come down to a matter to opinion; I believe that Horner is a lying, cheating barsteward... we will probably never know the complete truth as the FIA didn't flag it as an incident to be investigated; guess the stewards thought that Red Bull got their just deserts for trying to manipulate the result!

Pitwall BS and political crap aside, nobody can or will claim that Vettel didn't turn into Webber. He did. It's on video all over the world. How he caught him etc is irrelevant banter being brought up by people wishing to muddy the waters enough that the truth is forgotten. The truth is that Vettel was behind Webber the entire race without even an attempt to pass. The truth is that Vettel managed to get alongside Webber (doesn't matter how or why) and that having done so he completely cockked it by turning into a car that had position on him. Who cares whether he caught him over the course of one .4 second lap, or two .2 second laps....that kind of lap time delta happens to every car on every lap of every race. That is why they call it racing, and not rally. You guys are arguing over which driver is wearing boxers and which is wearing briefs. It's irrelevant. Webber had position, Vettel turned into him and took them both out. That is all that matters here. Under no circumstances would Webber ever be required to back off when he had the inside line and a guy made a dive up the outside. Vettle fornicated the pooch on this one...which is unfortunate for his standings, and the team's...but that is racing.

yeh i agree if that was riveal teams lets say Lewis was driving and vettle turned into him would be intresting to see how Mclaren delt with it?

and how the stewards ruled upon it, but i expect it would be a case of a 10 place grid penalty next race.
