You try to bring home the fastest car? Why so when you can bring home both cars? And you need to look VERY CAREFULLY at why one car may appear faster.
Why did Webber ask Vettel to be slowed? Well if he did I imagine its because he'd been asked to conserve fuel and found vettel in his mirrors. So he'd ask the question " if you want me to slow then call vettel off."

Let me rephrase that, you want to bring the faster car home FIRST, yes you would like to bring both home but racing is gambling and you take what's the odd. Would you rather have a four car battle (well of course your boy would be in the mix  ) and not knowing what may happaned or stack the odds against the house and at least insured 1 Red Bull finishing P1. BTW, Webber asked Vettel to back off before he was asked to conserve fuel and do people really believed Webber was asked to conserve so Red Bull can ensured a Vettel victory? Didn't the Mclarens was asked to do the same thing, there's no conspiracy in that? The front runners said after the race that it was the fastest race of the year and fuel consumption was high, more then normal.

Simple fact regardless of who said what to who Vettel crashed himself out of the race and his team out of a 1-2 finish.

no arguing with that its just a simple fact and there's no conspiray theory.

As if the world needed further proof that Mad Max is ...uh ...mad, ...

Mosley blames Webber for collision

Max is an idiot, always was, still is.

--the German star gained 0.4 second in the previous two laps--Webber asked the team to tell Vettel to back off.

Still not .4 seconds faster?, then Horner must be a liar.

Am I reading it wrong? It says that the German star gained .4 seconds over two laps..which would be .2 per lap which is a gain easily accounted for by Webber backing off. Vettel had the entire race to overtake and didn't...but he just happened to find the extra pace when Webber was told to conserve fuel? Strange timing don't you think? Where was he the previous majority of the race? Biding his time? Vettel took advantage of his team mate, and that is fine...happens all the time, so be it...but he then made a mistake and took his team mate out....which is bad.

Have to agree with you here Bill

What part of my post isn't quite true?

I'm not ENTIRELY disagreeing with you I'm hust saying that Vettel does have a quality beyond driving one fast lap or leading from the front after qualifying well.
However, lately Vettel's overtaking has been disgusting. 2 race ending collisions in 18 months while vying for a podium position is far from good. The reason I believe is the pressure of being at the pointy end of the field. While driving the Torro Rosso there would be no where near as much pressure because the expectation would be to finish, with anything else above being a bonus where at Red Bull they expect quality results.

She didn't tell you? I think I'm a bit offended.....

In any event, RC and I are having an affair. She is morally required to agree with me on occasion....especially after last night.

Going into lap 40 of the Turkish Grand Prix - the lap Red Bull drivers Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel collided - team boss Christian Horner instructed Webber's race engineer Ciaron Pilbeam to tell Webber to allow Vettel past. Pilbeam could not bring himself to pass the message on. (Autosport magazine)

-.-

I'm glad Ciaron didn't. I really am. At least we know there's one person on Mark's side...
