A previous post of mine. Watch it several times and you will see that Webber did move over and I still do not understand your logic as to WHY Webber SHOULD have moved over .

I found this video and watched it several times using a quick 'start/pause' method and it is clearly visible that;
1. Webber actually did pull right slightly when he see's Vettel right along side giving him extra room.
2. Vettel after clearly being given extra room still try's to push Webber further right thus making contact.

Webber gave Vettel room enough to get his car alongside and make the pass; why should Webber concede the clean line into the braking zone; it's upto Vettel to make the move stick; Webber does not need to move over further to allow Vettel to have the clean braking line. This isn't motorway driving; it's motor racing!

why? Webber gave him enough room to fit his car, Webber knew he had the better line for the braking zone so didnt really care if Vettel was next to him or slightly infront. Logically Vettel shouldnt have forced Webber to the right and backed off and tucked in behind him for the corner. But no he knew it was his last lap on the higher revs so tried to force the move.

the fact Redbull were playing the blame game let alone on Webber is whats the saddest part of this incident.

Vettel didnt do a super rowdy move. It was aggressive in the sense that he came quite fast alongside Webber. But i guess that shows how much faster than Webber Vettel was. The problem with Vettel's move was that he didnt make it stick, and he couldnt adjust his position (ie move left!) to avoid contact while still going for the pass.

Mark simply didnt give him room. He didnt have to! if Vettel was that much faster he should have been able to make a pass stick. If he wasnt fast enough then there was no pt in Mark surrendering his possition. I guess Webber didnt realise how bad at o/t Vettel really is

Referring to the section in bold, it doesn't matter how mach faster he was, you're quite right that the problem was that Vettel couldn't make it stick. A F1 car takes Loews Hairpin at Monaco at 50kph, in my Hyundai Coupe I could probably arrive at that corner at 150kph, but would I be able to do so, and make the turn, on the racing line or off it at that speed? Not a chance! I'd be a bloody mess against the wall.

To a lesser extent this is the same, Vettel was on the dirty part of the track, too tight on the inside which is why he had to try to force Webber out of the way (failing to do so), because if not, he wouldn't have made that corner without heavily braking, losing all momentum and probably letting Hamilton through. The move might have started out ok, but became desperate at the point Vettel discovered Webber wasn't going to yield (and why should he, he was on the racing line in front!), and turned into him.

I'm sorry, but anybody who says this was anything other than Vettel's fault is completely wrong. (Not saying you were F1ea, I was just taking a quote that I found I could expand on!).

It could be argued that in the Red Bull camp, Weber is number two, and Vettel is supposed to be the star. While Weber has conceded that Seb had the faster car at that point, I don't think the stats prove this beyond the shadow of of a doubt. Mark was able to ratchet down his times almost at will - and was given the order to save fuel FIRST. It stands to reason that he would think that Seb would be given the same hand, seeing that he was so harried by Hamilton for a long time. But what if he wasn't given the same orders? Seb's onboards show him reeling in Weber at such a frenetic pace its almost as if he caught the Australian napping, or...following orders. It could also be argued that the same thing happened in the McLaren camp, which led to Hamilton's subdued postrace antics both in the car and in parc ferme. They (Mark and Lewis) have both realised that the deck is going to be stacked against them from here on out. That number one mindset, to me, explains Vettel's accident.

No doubt that that is Vettels mindset and that is the mindset a driver should have. Vettel is still a rising star and no doubt we will see great things from him in the future.

Vettel knew that the only chance he had to make the move stick was to reclaim the racing line before the left hand corner as it was immediately preceded by a right hander and despite the fact he would be first to the lefthander he would have been exposed on the second corner and webber could have come back under with superior drive . This was why Vettel veered suddenly and the contact was made. He knew that the pass would not stick unless he reclaimed the racing line prior to the first turn. Webber treated unfairly and good to see that racing fans acknowledge this and I hope for Vettels credibility he stands up and takes the blame instead of the acting like the childish twit he has been. All the replays show the same and he is a clown for saying Webber turned in on him.

Clearly Vettel. And I think part of it was annoyance that Webber didnt mve over. Like when he was annoyed with Lewis in the pit lane and tried to push him into the actual pit boxes.

I just vote for Webber by mistake Its too early in the morning!!
