It seems there's a concensus on Webber sticking to his line and Vettel turning in to him...
So, why do the team seem to be blaming Webber? Horner said, "they did not give each other
enough room." Which seems to imply, he means Webber. Thing is, how do you define "enough
room?" Enough to get a car through without going onto to grass? Well, Vettel had that much
room, at least.

J McEvoy, in the Daily Mail, reckons its a stich up against Webber. The having to turn his
engine down, and all that... In which case, Vettel turning into him, did him a favour, as its put
his main rival for the title 15 points behind! Ha...

I hope the team (and Red Bull) aren't favouring Vettel, because then, this kind of thing is going
to happen again...! :banghead:

:banghead: any ideas? lol where??

In all honesty we, the forum as a whole, do not condone media piracy but if you use the 'search' option provided I believe you will find 1-2 options although they require a payable account.

Cable and a vcr is all you need  .

webber is not exempt 100% from fault. he should have gotten the blue flag. the next turn was a sharp left hander which any driver needed to move to the right side of the track to slow down. im not defending vettel, but webber is at fault also. vettel would have gone by and made distance between themselves. webber might have even been passed by hamilton. he needed to let vettel by

So on this whole save fuel thing, I didn't know that Turkey was that bad a track on fuel to begin with. Why did it get so critical for McLaren in the first place? It seems like they were the team most concerned with fuel based on the radio messages released.

Is it possible they chose to put in a little less fuel in order to be that much more competitive against RB? Or is it that the tanks were maxed and it's exposing a limitation in their car's design a la VR with a too small a fuel tank?

The difference is Hambone and Button were more competitive.

Both RBR and McLaren likely based their fuel load on their cars' demonstrated consumption at the earlier 2010 races. Barring some calamity or miscue, RBR were in the practice of motoring away from the field and cruising to the checquered. But at Turkey, RBR had no such respite. They had to fight to defend position and McLaren fought to overtake. At the start of the fateful lap 40, just 2.2 seconds covered all four cars, which is without precedent for this season. Dicing for position for 40 laps required a great deal more fuel than their experiences in the earlier races told either team to expect.

Not to worry. Adrian Newey über alles. Once RBR have their F-duct ready to race, I reckon the other 22 cars will resume the role of backmarkers.

I thought RBR was racing their F-duct this weekend or do you mean fully developed? During the prerace antics the RBR system was shown and discussed.

At some pts they showed camera shots of the 4 cars and they were amazingly close. Had it been a more dangerous track there would have been at least a couple more out takings......... Mclaren were VERY competitive. It seems right now the only adv Red Bull has is whatever they are doing at Q. Obviously we dont know how much faster they could have actually been on low fuel there at the end of Turkey... but Mclaren was very close all throughout.

They (Newey and Horner) probably did cry.. good thing they had their backs to the camera :hehe:
