...then you really should read this 'Class A' piece of bull**** from Mark Hughes:

quite possibly the most misguided (and patronising) piece of motorsport journalism i've ever read.

The software required to mesh fast-spinning gears with millisecond precision is extremely sophisticated. But just like the software in your lap-top, it occasionally suffers a glitch. On this occasion, as Hamilton pulled on the downshift paddle, the system completed only part of the command, disengaging the seventh gear he was in, but not then engaging sixth. Instead it left him in neutral.

does he think we all took the short bus to school or something?

lord help us all.

My reckoning is that he lost drive, then pressed the wrong button which meant that the system was out longer than necessary.

Image

1. +10, +1 and MSG OK
Used by the driver to scroll through the various car function menus. Also allows certain functions to be overridden if something goes wrong. The MSG OK button (black with a white cross) changes the respective menus of the +10 and +1 buttons.

this is the one i rekn he would have bumped! as it scrolls through the functions, he probably didnt know which function he went into at first and after talking to the pit wall they told him to reset!

Absinthe. That's why he's so quiet. He doesn't want to wake the green fairy that's in his head.

Definitely vodka, Finnish vodka. That's why he's unintelligible in post race interviews.

"Did you think the race was yours when you passed Alonso Kimi?"

"Did I pash Alonsho? Dunno, wash having a sh*t."

Where's the button for the James Bond missile to take out Alonso?

Didn't they say in the coverage at the weekend, that the Honda engineers had taped a lighter in the cockpit, so Jenson could burn the car one the race as over.
