I think Button was frustrated at the team and that's why he pulled that move on Hamilton. But unfortunately he had to give it up.

It looked like it from the original shot but i the replays from other angles i dont hink so.

There was other overtaking. Vettel past Lewis, lewis past Vettel,Michael past Button, Button past Michael, Alonso past Petrov, and others further down the field. Cant remember them all. I think Bruno pulled a move or two.

if there was no contact made it was a bloody close call, look around 21-23 seconds Im almost sure theres a little 'bumpage' going on.

Mm, definitely looks like they touched. Not that it's a bad thing; wheel to wheel racing is good. Just so long as you don't get it wrong, like a certain young German...

Mmm I agree it looks very much like it but I have seen it from another angle and it looks clear they didnt. But like you say , all was well and it made for a good spectacle. I bet Whitmarsh was wetting himself!

What I find very odd is that Webber was told to save fuel if I am not mistaken.

However, after his pit stop for a changed nose he managed to set 2 or 3 (can't remember) fastest laps in a row before Petrov went fastest.
Now I know the fuel load at the time would have made Webbers car faster, but he still would have had to of been pushing fairly hard, probably through pure frustration, to set those VERY quick few laps.
Something smells fishy at Red Bull, and as an avid supporter of the team it does not look good AT ALL!

Exactly. The tyres would have gathered further speed and grip, particuarly through turn 8, but still not enough to make up the 1.5-2 second difference in improvement. All credit to Mclaren however, they managed to put themselves in a position capable of capitalising on the situation. Red Bull now need to publicly address the situation ASAP.

I have a feeling both drivers will receive a fine from the team or something of the like. Poor, poor Webber. F1's unluckiest driver indeed.

I almost fell out of my chair when Webber and Vettel got together, poor Mark.
Some good racing on Button and Hamiltons part though nice and clean although I'm disappointed that Button did not make it stick.

Very true. Imagine its just Mclaren being cocky and showing Red Bull their experience at being a winning tem and how it should be done.

On the McLaren thing. It seems there was a mix up with instructions (BBC website). Lewis was told both cars were going to fuel save-we all heard that broadcast, but Jens didnt get his message till 3 laps later. So Jens didnt know why Lewis was slowing and took his opportunity and Lewis didnt know that Jens had not had the message.

Mclaren wont have done this to get Button past Lewis- no point, it sounds like just a mix up and luckily no disaster ensued because the drivers showed each other respect ...unlike Vettel.

It just seems funny that McLaren claims that Button did not recieve the message until three laps later and once he takes the fight to Lewis they give him the save fuel message. It may be nothing at all but it just does not set right with me. Atleast it was a clean fight and they both finished .

Not sure what you're saying Tex. It was a miscommunication nothing more. Why would they want to favour either driver?

Ah, now it makes sense...

And also the issue with Red Bull, it wasn't that Mclaren were able to capitalise on the incident; rather they made it happen. Lewis pressure definitely got to Vettel and he felt he had to make that move because his possition was actually threatened. That's why I don't think Vettel was so stupid, he just made a bold move that was a mistake. Had he held on for 2 laps more lewis would have gone into fuel save and vettel could have relaxed and settled with the positions. But noone knew Mcl was going on fuel save... So, simply a mistake.
Vettel is not the best defender... Nor overtaker hehe, Lewis is much better at o/t.
