Would like to know what the McLaren guy was saying to Lewis, and then Lewis to Button just before they walked out onto the podium. Looked like they were trying to get their stories straight before the press conference. There was also a bit too much hand shaking and back slapping between Hamilton and Button on the podium

As for Horner saying the guys should give each other room

Vettel is the favoured son at Redbull, wouldn't expect anything less from Horner!

well Webber did, he certianly didnt force him onto the grass which drivers have done to each other in the past.

I wasnt impressed with Horners reply about the incident. Mark definately left room.

There was definatly enough room and IMO seb was at fault.

I think everybody got their money's worth with the first race of the day. Let's hope the Indy 500 will be just as exciting. And tonight we've got the Coca Cola 600. Let's go Jeff Gordon!!. What a day for racing!

Great racing between Button and Hamilton for a while there...would have been great if they could have kept it up.

Vettel was a tool. If he is really conceding he lost control of his car, why did he give Mark a fist in the air and then do the 'cookoo' gesture.

Looks like someone went back inside their motor home, had a look at the tape, then thought "oh crap, I need an excuse". He had plenty of room and pace, the corner was his, there was no need to turn right. It was just a stupid rookie mistake.

"This is why kids should not be allowed in F1"

Totally agree

Vettel, what a jerk. I felt so sorry for Webber, looking at him while they asked him "how does it feel having your teammie take away your win", it's cruel.

Yeah,i am a fan of Vettel but he was really stupid-he did that move!It was obvious that he was gonna crash. And i agree on that it was really sad when they asked him that question.Red Bull did a mistake by making the pilots to compete with each other. It ends with a crash when a team does that.

For first 20 laps they were focused on first 5.It was really enjoyable but i got bored after the commertial on 21st lap till Vettel's crash.

I hope they wont make Turkey out of the calendar.Well,it was an awesome race and there were a lot of people so i dont think we are inerdanger of being out of the calendar.I couldnt watch it in Istanbul Park but next year i definitely will-if theres no problem.

There's no talk about Lewis' reaction about the win. He was emotionless as if he had scored a third or fourth position, why do you think that was? Was it really because McLaren didn't let Button compete for the win? Or was it because Jenson attacked him while they were said to save fuel? He won that battle and should be happy. I can't explain it

Man, some people really like to see things that aren't their, Jenson was not told to back off at all. Both drivers were told to conserve fuel so Lewis slowed down but Jenson decided to have a pop when Lewis was not flat out so he passed him. Lewis then decided to win his place back, not because McLaren had told jENSON to back off, it was because Jenson could not hold the position, it's as simple as that.

So Lewis should do cart wheels because ivey wants him to?

I am sure he is happy enough just like Jenson is happy enough, i know you and some people can't bare the thought of Lewis and Jenson actually getting on but that's the way it is. If you want in team fighting then look towards Redbull for your kicks.

race was completely boring until red bull messed up, then it got interesting ;)

woo mclaren 1-2

shame alonso blatently ruined petrovs race

Just shows that any attempt at overtaking in Turkey ends in disaster.

Lewis and jens managed it safely- both on each other and Vettel and Schumacher.I think quite a few others did as well. I thought it was a great race. I love that track and the drivers do.
I agree about Petrov, it was a shame, he'd raced really well and deserved that point.

What does people make of the latest Red Bull speculation?

Did Red Bull ask Webber to turn his engine down and not Vettel's?

Their lap times prior to the incident show the Australian slow down while Vettel remains quick...

EDIT: Does Red Bull want Vettel to win the championship over Webber? Now i'm not suggesting they do but it is an interesting line for discussion?

All of the speculation may be purely coincidence and we will have to wait a few more days for more details to emerge.

I liked the Webber-Hamilton chase early on.

Very impressed with Webber under pressure & Lewis's improved self control.

Great battle with Lewis-Jenson...pity the "conserve fuel" code for settle don't be a Vettel came over the radio though. :nono:

Also impressed with Lewis's mature celebration after the race considering Vettel had gifted it to him. Most I've liked him yet. Now if they can get his girl to stop acting a twit and looking for the camera.

Seb you are a kransky.

I watched this on the BBC F1 forum after the race as well, apparently they asked Webber to turn his engine down and Vettel to turn his up, kind of explains why Vettel appeared to make up the ground he did in the short space of time he did.

Also during an interview with Button he said he was asked to watch his fuel from as early as lap 20!
