Yet there are a lot of average drivers in all the higher class's of racing such as NASCAR, IndyCar for example. IMO I think that any driver who has made it to these series deserves a chance even if they suck .

I agree, a test can't hurt but she's going on and talking smack about F1, her opinion she's entitled. The thing here is that her stardom isn't coming from pure racing ability or performance but she deserves a test simply based on the fact that any team that hires her is hiring of the most recognizable faces in motor sports and that brings in sponsors.

Look at Mansell he was a top F1 driver could of been a multiple WDC. He won the WDC then went to Indy and won it easily even tho he missed one race from injury also 2nd in that year was Fittipaldi.

F1 drivers are the best in the world, so only the best indy car drivers would have a chance.

Look at Seb Boudrais he was 4 Time Straight CART champion, yet he came to F1 and was dominated by Vettle scoring 4 points to Sebs 35.

There are plenty of other drivers that deserve a seat other than her.

she's in a established serries that suits her ability an F1 drive would be wasted on her and most Indy Car drivers.

Especially when you have drivers like Paul Di Resta, Anthony Davidson and Garry Paffet who deserve F1 drives.

There are drivers worse than her that occupy f1 seats as we speak. Not many though.
Then there's the test driver question. Some drivers are happy in that role, feeling happy to be in F1 in some capacity even if it's not a race driver. Some guys would rather test for a top team than drive for a back marker.
DP sounds like she would never stoop to being a test driver.

Good feature in Autosport this week about Women Motor Racing drivers in the IRL. Basically that their umpalumpa is attracting all of the sponsors and meaning that better drivers are struggling to get drives in the series.

Alot of those in the Indy 500 this weekend may not last the season.

No he didn't, actually. Out of his 5 wins only 1 was on a grand prix circuit, something which I thought F1 drivers were supposed to be the best at? It also helped that he jumped into the best car of the season, which was developed by this one guy named Michael Andretti. Also, if he was so much better than everyone at Indy, then why did he have a winless season right after his championship season?

The truth is that just because a driver is successful in one series, does not necessarily mean he/she will be great in another. Such as a nascar driver switching to F1 or vice versa.

Thats the exact same reason I'm not joining F1. Not that I'll get smoked or anything...just because its "unfriendly"...

If she doesnt want to drive, im sure all the pit crews get hungry during the races...
