But by that same token; Alonso is no different as he was considered the saviour of F1 after years of Schumacher/Ferrari dominance. As far as I am concerned F1 needs more drivers like Hamilton and Alonso; drivers that are racers not FIA puppets that don't attack for fear of being penalised.
This argument has been going on for what seems like forever, does it really need to pop up in every other thread?
It will persist as long as Hammy is considered to be the resurrection of F1 and F1 would not be what it is without him. Place the blame on where it originated from.
