And what did Nando do that was so amazing? he got lucky with the safty car and overtook some back makers then leap frogged everyone at the pits.

Good Stratagy rather than good racing.

It takes good racing to put a strategy like that into effect. If he'd been stuck behind even one backmarker for too long, he'd have got nowhere.

you mean like getting stuck behind DiGrassi for a few laps that stopped him from finishing 5th? yeah great drive :hehe: 6th place was all down to stopping on lap 1 the only impressive thing he did was manage the tyres, but even then they are meant to last 80 to 100 laps.

As pointed out by the commentators, Alonso was having to take big risks to get past even the new teams, as there just isn't enough opportunity to pass around Monaco. "A few laps" means nothing, we've seen Coulthard in a McLaren stuck behind Bernouldi for most of the race. Great driving from Alonso, no doubt.

ummm Bernoldi's car wasnt 3 or 4 seconds slower than Coulthards :hehe: Alonso got owned by DiGrassi!

Yes, Bernoldi's car was 3 or 4 seconds slower than Coulthard. Once again you demonstrate that you simply don't know what you are talking about. 3.906 seconds to be precise. Shows how much you know.

What's worse, me remembering approximately how much slower Bernoldi was than Coulthard, or you pretending to know that it wasn't 3-4 seconds and basing your argument on that?

What's this about respect? If you want some respect try earning it by not talking BS all the time?

it doesn't change the fact dc got stuck behind someone in Monaco who was further of the pace in quali then Di-grasse (sp) was who "owned" Alonso.

Anyway, I've always viewed f1 as a team sport, it's not really fair to compare Alonso strategies to Button's as Button's was made during the race in changeable conditions, Alonso had to sit out quali and Ferrari probably worked out his stragety there, nor do I feel there's anything wrong in Ferrari giving Alonso his stragety.

sod off is what you English say is it not? i dont talk BS all the time fair go cobber! I have shown plenty of times i am knowledgeable about the sport, and i can get many members to back that claim up! But you think you have respect on this board? youre just like a few other certain members mono tone, know it all, boring and talk down to others and cant take a bit of a ribbing!

I cant imagine you ever donning a Macca avatar or sig in losing a bet!

Do you get respect from these members because you actually show a wide and deep knowledge on F1 and have deep insights, or because you and they share the same weird beliefs and biases?

Because much of what I see from you is BS, like these claims about Alonso's performance at Monaco, when anyone who understands F1 knows that even with a couple of seconds difference in speed between the cars it's damn hard to pass at Monaco.

If you're insinuating only McLaren fans will back me up then you're wrong. In fact ill give you one, a member from Texas who is a Ferrari fan would back up claims that i am knowledgeable of the sport of F1 let alone motorsport in general!
I'm allowed to bring Alonso and his fans down a peg, afterall they are the same ones who gave stuff all respect to say Lewis in China who actually had to pass cars to finish 2nd from back in the pack! Alonso did well i admitted that in the Monaco thread, looking after his tyres and all but all i am saying is without the SC he wouldnt have faired well at all! he only passed cars of merit during pit stops.

PS what weird beliefs do i have? i am curious! :hehe:

by the way you quoted qualifying times not race times of DC and EB i thought i would also use google and found this that explains DC's woes
Coulthard had a heavy load of fuel (he went 65 of the 78 laps) and he found himself stuck behind Enrique Bernoldi's Arrows, trolling along with enough fuel to get him to lap 43. The weight difference of the two cars was probably about 50kg and that meant a second and a half or two seconds per lap.

i wont explain anything, after all you should understand what is there :P
