In order to stop all rumors about how slow his car was during the last race, this is what Hamilton had to say:

Hamilton admits human error cost him title
Mon 22 Oct, 09:36 PM

Lewis Hamilton has admitted that his bid for this year's Formula One Championship seemingly came to an end during the last race of the season following a moment of human error.

"My finger slipped on the steering wheel and I accidentally pressed the button used for the starting sequence," Hamilton confided several hours after the event, according to Montreal's French-language daily newspaper La Presse.

That error cut power to his McLaren for an interminable minute, dropping him down to 18th place as the Brazilian Grand Prix entered its eighth lap on the Interlagos circuit.

"The car went into neutral and I had to reinitialize the system, that is, reload the gearbox management program," he explained. The onboard camera recorded images of Hamilton pressing several buttons on his steering wheel while other drivers sped by.

Once his McLaren car was back up to speed, Hamilton would afterwards work his way back up to seventh place, two positions away from the necessary number of points that would have allowed him to be the first rookie World Champion".

Hamilton made 2 major mistakes that cost him the cahmpionship: china and brazil. Even Hamilton doesn't want to win in court. That's someone that I would respect because unlike bosses at McLaren, he believes in winning on the track and that's how it's supposed to be. Good luck to him next year.

Yes someone said that here yesterday, but I didn't know how he knew. Maybe he just assumed? And now it should shut up the people that refuse to believe LH has faults like the other 6 billion people in the world.

Agreed the China risk was not needed, they didnt need to win there just score points! that cost him the title i think because if he came second or third Kimi would have been out of contention and Fernando would have needed a miracle in Brazil.
that added to Lewis dicing with Fernando when it wasnt needed put him under more pressure to gain places thus pushing abit overward and bumping his controls.

i think people do forget he is 22 and in his first year of F1 he will only learn from these moments and learn that to win the title you dont need to win every race.

and while i agree not to pursue the matter any further and just leave the title points be. McLaren did win the constructor title on track take the stupid team punishment for Hungary aside they had 219 ppoints for the season compared to 204 for Ferrari so if winning the title off track is good enough for Ferrari bosses then the McLaren bosses can try and win the drivers title off the track to ;)

I would have to agree the championship was lost in china, it would have been better to take some points rather than the 0 they, all did due to the odd questionable decision to leave him out tyres that were clearly screwed, i'm sure we were all shoting at the TV in the laps leading to th fatefull pit stop

As I said before, RD didn't do any favor to LH by handling him the way he did.

Kid was supposed to have his 1st year in F1 getting used to work with top class team, getting used to tracks (in F1 car), learning and enjoying his good luck to be where he is, and NOT being under ultimate stress and pressure. As it happened, it was too much too quick, and his nerves couldn't handle it. Trying to fight back FA in first lap was stupid, and his second mistake was even more. Just think, FA - like him or not - was able to keep his head cool in finishing of last 2 seasons, target results he needed (not ones he wanted) and minimize damage, getting final and ultimate result.

No matter how brave face LH is showing now, this stint will haunt him in months to come and who knows how much time will he need to fully recover. His first F1 season ended up like a worst nightmare.

Hahahahahaha, is the funniest thing that i've never heard in Formula One, the stupid Hamilcheats lost the championship that the maFIA give to him, just moving a finger.... hahahahahaha

Fernando Alonso is the best, If McLaren had support Fernando like Hamilcheats, Alonso now would be the champion.

Alonso, go out from this looser team!!!!

so you think maybe next year they will relocate the starting sequence switch to another location so drivers don't press it accidently?? How many times during the race do you push the starting sequence button?? Once, so maybe please relocate that button somewhere else.

I call Hamilton Hamilcheats just because he is a cheater, he has all the help from the maFIA and McLaren, like in Hungary (Do you remember?), or the last races, with his stupid driving with the Safety Car causing an accident, and nothing happens. And a lot of more things...

Why Alonso has a turtle car the last 3 races?
Why he has stupid problems with the tyres in China and Japan?
Why dennis said that the enemy for the championship is Alonso not Kimi?

At what point has Hamilton cheated?
The crane? That was within the rules, which have now been amended to stop it happening again.
The S/C? Vettel admits he wasn't looking where he was going.
Hungary? Alonso BLOCKED THE PROGRESSION OF ANOTHER CAR! THAT IS ILLEGAL (MS in Monaco last year got dumped to the back of the grid!)

Alonso had a great car in China (nerfed a wall) and Japan (more cautios with his tyres). However he may not have been seeing all the new parts if he's on his way out of the team (freezing the development of the car to avoid IP being stolen)

Dennis said that as Alonso (a moaner on his way out the team) was closer to Hamilton than Raikonnen so didn't see Raikonnen as a threat.

Now stop dribbling on your keyboard. You're making a mess again.

In hungary Alonso won the pole, and the tears from hamilton and his daddy to the maFIA made the rest... Alonso and McLaren would be the champions without Hamilton cries.

In China the car back from the safety car, has to go a distance of about 5 cars, Hamilton was Parallel from the SC, this is forbidden, if it was Alonso instead of Hamilton, the maFIA would punish him severy. Also Hamilton was slowing and accelerating in strange circunstances, causing the accident, this is forbidden too, except for Hamilton, of course... The maFIA apologize the fault from Vettel, so if it wasn´t Vettel fault ¿Who is the Guilty?, but Hamilton is untouchable for the maFIA...

In China and Japan Alonso has problems in the Q3 with the preassure of his tyres, so he can´t win the pole, things that you can´t read in the partial English press...

Dennis said: "we were racing against Fernando not Kimi" So you can distort it , but he said that textually.

And with all this help to Hamilton, Kimi was the champion... it's funny...
