At 240km/h the "Formula Rossa" will be the fastest rollercoaster on the planet with passengers feeling an incredible 1.7Gs of force whilst getting shot 52 meters into the sky and traveling from 0-100km/h in an incredible 2 seconds.
The attraction is part of Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, the first theme park to be built around the legendary Formula 1 and supercar maker franchise. It will be officially opened on 28 October at the Yas Marina Island, in the Abu Dhabi emirate.
"I can't wait to have a go on it," commented Fernando Alonso, F1 driver for Ferrari. "It's true that we drivers are used to speed, but this way I'll get the chance to share the thrill of doing 240 km/h with my engineers, so they can get a feel for what it's all about!"
Thrill seekers will be able to try two Ferrari rollercoasters at Ferrari World. One, the Formula Rossa, mimicking the acceleration, cornering forces and top speed of a Formula 1 car.
The other providing the excitement of sports car performance with the unique thrill of a race between rollercoaster cars to the finish, with the cars over taking each other and with a different result on every ride!
