Renault 5 on Steroids; very quick in it's day but $47,500 seems awfully steep for a minimum reserve for a 30 year old car.

The age has nothing to do with it as it is a low production car with great racing heritage. I would research the market first before I paid that sum but would not be against paying it for a clean/original example.

there are nicer cars avalible from that time period

for example...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Audi-Coupe-Quattr ... 2306cd4d23

same 0-60 as the renault that,

1. buy that for £1-2k and
2.spend 5k doing it up
3 ????
4. Profit.

Look at the milage though!

That Renault didn't have many miles on the clock, i think that's why the price is so big. It's in perfect condition too, it seems.

Yeh but a rebuild would be like £300ish on that lol.

Look how simple the engine is, would be easy to work on.

If that is an original Renault 5 Turbo 2 I would imagine it would command that sort of price.

It was mid engined as I remember, it came out about the same time as the 6R4 and the rs200, they brought around a lot of big rules in rallying because they where so stupidly fast and dangerous.

I want both :hehe: but if I had to choose only one I would go with the R5.

the 6r4 had the same engine as the XJ220

Minus the turbos though, can't begin to fathom what an even bigger monster it would have been with TT :yikes: .
