From what I can remember there was a pretty good movie on the subject "Gallipoli" back in the early 80's directed by Peter Weir.

Yeah, I think so... but I can't be sure now. Ok just checked IMDB and yeah he's in it. The most striking memory is still seeing hundreds of men rushing the trenches and just being gunned down, wave after wave after wave.

I went last year. Im currently reading the book (Gallipoli) There were so many errors and poor leadership in that campaign.Its an amazing place to visit tho.
