If Alonso managed to finish second at Brazil, would McLaren still put in an appeal for the BMW and Williams teams to be penalized so Hamilton could be World Champion?

They probably would, at least to annoy Ferrari. Hopefully when the appeal is decided, that's the end of it. However the officials seemed to take quite some time to come to a decision after the Brazilian GP, so maybe they are undecided and McLaren are going to test them.
