2 US GP may have advantages for the sport, however in terms of racing the Indy infield circuit would again need massive work. Once the F1 left the circuit owners stuck two fingers up to Ecclestone and completely changed the layout to suit motorcycles. If you thought it was bad first time round, then the new layout would be worse for F1 in my opinion.

If Ecclestone is prepared to lower his sanction fees for a return to the US he should looks elsewhere in the country. The return of the USGP East and USGP West would be welcomed, with a race in New York and Bernie to bring the sport back to Long Beach.

One can dream.

Isn't Tony George incompetent though? Either way, it's a good sign if Bernie had him as a guest in China...

If they had 2 races it'd be Indy and a stupid street race in some excessively glitzy location. I miss the gritty 'true' street tracks. :(

I think this is the current Infield crop at Indy. As everyone will know they changed direction.

It'll be a new track built in Arizona, designed by Hermann Tilke... FACT!!!

Isn't that the prerequisite for tracks joining the F1 calendar?

I thought they did that just for Moto GP. I'd prefer the usual layout for F1. Much better for overtaking.

Anyways. F1 in the USA. It'll be a race through New York no doubt, because thats what Bernie wants. The 2nd option, I agree with myownalias. It'll be a track built just for F1 coming to town. When was the last time F1 went to an existing race track anyway.

I bet Bernie can picture it becoming a success as we type:

(As a F1 fan in the US) I certainly hope it becomes a success. There wasn't even a race on this continent last year, let alone in my country. I was lucky enough to be in Germany for the 2009 Nurburgring race, but I sure as hell can't do that every year. :(

Maybe 1 race in the US and another in Mexico back at Hermanos Rodrigues would be good.

Unlocked after cleaning up - the detour is now in its own thread under Anything Else (Arizona Immigrant Law).
