I don't think it's his age, I think it is his time away from F1. I own a kart track and try to get in a race or two every day. I can always set lowest laptime except when I go on vacation or don't get out there for a while, then suddenly I get beat by other staff. I would give Michael some time to get back up to speed with the new F1 cars. He's obviously still an amazing driver, he's almost unbeatable in the Race of Champions event every year.

The race of champions i watched in paris was rigged. He was beaten by massa (they gave it Schuey saying Massa touched the side-everyone touched the side!), then heikki beat him fair and square so they brought in an "extra race" to have a shoot out with Loeb and Loeb had a cranky car. next day all the papers said 'Schumacher wins Race of Champions' NO WAY. I saw it.

[Irv the Swerve]

Seems to me hes struggling to get up to pace without using Traction Control. Helped him his whole career so hes not used to not having it.

What are you on about?? From 93 to 2001 there was no traction control so 3 titles won between those years!

Listen, I was taking back by his lack of performance since coming back and in particular the Chinese GP but he may be finding the right setup or getting the grips with the current regs. Even though he is 40 points behind his teammate its still a great achievement getting into the higher places from 3 years out.

I do wonder how many of the forumites are old enough [or were watching F1] to remember prior to the 2002 season? After-all it was 8 years since the last bout of TC banning!
