They said there are hundreds of makes. Just none in the leagues of Bridgestone & Michelin. But if you look @ loads of different racing series they will all use different makes. Like in Tokyo. Maybe we need a jap company to take on a few teams ;)

Nah, anybody can quote somebody and then change the quote (actually a no no :nono: ) - your post itself was not altered

Usually comes with a 'fixed that for you'...

Nah, anybody can quote somebody and then change the quote (bad, bad boy!) - your post itself was not altered

What about pirelli? Are they still going? They do nice calendars :)

They used to do a great super-sticky qualifying tyre as well.

 aswell as a super longlasting hard compound. As far as the topic is concerned I would love to see Michelin back in as I'm all for 'the more the merrier' concept of having numerous suppliers :) .

So, when does the FIA have to decide neither or not a new tire supplier has to fill the spot of Bridgestone...????? I mean, Bridgestone is leaving F1... (but do we know really???)... like Petronas said it would not be involved in F1 a few days later they sign up with Mercedes GP :banghead:
And what would happen if FIA doesn't find any new tire supplier at all??? Will the cars drive on whatever they like or will they use another new technology like floating???
If the announcement is, say in December of this year... can then that new tire supplier (Michelin or any other) be able to build an appropriate F1 tire on time??? And what about the teams...? They have to adapt their aerodynamics to the new tire specifications (we all remember why Renault was doing so badly after Michelin left and they changed to Bridgestone...)
