yeah youre not getting it, If Mammals had evolved as the dominant species instead of reptiles>dinosaurs then it only took 65 Million years for us to evolved theres 400 million years before that time!

like i said YOU cannot say our planets evolutionary history is the default lineage that all life shall take all over the universe!

Yeah ok, so instead of 4 billion years it might have only taken 3.6 billion years, that's still a very significant percentage of the 13.5 billion years that the universe has been around, 26.7% as opposed to 30%, which is what I was talking about originally.

my previous thought of life coming and going many times and earth being in existance for only a tiny fraction of the age of the universe then I would say there would be quite a large probability but since the earth and life on it covers quite a significant fraction of the age of the universe I'd say that reduces the probability of et life being as abundant.

You have both good points. However, I still think that the Earth model is not necessarily the only model. On other planets, the speed of evolution could have been much faster (maybe the conditions on such a planet were more favorable for existence of life to begin with and evolution could take shortcuts). Also, who's to say life has to be carbon-based? Which would open a whole new can of worms

To me that would be stretching it quite a bit, a planet with no biology with the conditions (close) to supporting it's future complex life and also that those conditions could give rise to the first self replicating molecules.

But this has made me think differently, instead of that early life evolving to survive in the conditions on earth, the early life that survived was that that could modify it's puddle to suit itself which it then did to the entire planet. Maybe.

Now... I'm not going to get too involved this time, as we're all entitled to our beliefs.

The Bible does not say that the earth the is 6000 years old. It says, "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth proved to be formless... etc." Gen 1:1 and 2.

So the Earth was already created long before the 6 creative days. The Beginning is an unspecified period of time. On top of this a creative day is not a literal 24 hours. But it is much longer and I could babble out a few more scriptures to show that this is supported by other places in Bible, much to the discontent of everyone on this forum.

Also, there first creative days existed before the sun and other illuminaries were created. I'm not going to say anything else here unless it is asked for. I swear.

All I have to say is that the Earth is much much older than 6,000 years.

Who wrote the bible? some monks? - thats great if somone wrote that book now as a factual book they would be laughed out of the publishers office.

But the good news that scientific fact says the earth is around 4 billion years old!

Perhaps right they guy who wrote the bible wrote the book about creation after a few too glasses of church wine and he wrote days when he actually ment to put 6 billion years?
