i agree, the most "safe" car for the first 15 races and then spyker reliability kicks in - plus 7th lap auto switch off to ensure ferarri get both con & dri titles. funny that since the hearing berni said he hopes it goes to the last race! complete bolloxxs set up just for £££££ mac were not permitted to win title but drivers allowed to race to prevent public havoc

Hamilton was unfortunate to have a technical problem but stuff like this has happened before. It's awful, hurtful and disappointing, but a part of life. This wasn't his year, however, all being well, he will be around for a long time to come.

Exactly we are talking about a mechanical contraption built by man, both are not perfect thus issue's can arise.

I was thinking the same thing.

I thought Kimi didn't seem as thrilled as he should. I think after what happened with McLaren they weren't allowed to win the title.

Eh? And when did you see Kimi thrilled, mind you? :D

how is it that hamiltons car can be so reliable all season but all of a sudden at the critical race of the season which decides the whole championship has a problem that after 30 seconds fixes itself and he goes super fast after? maybe its just me but the team does have control over the car afterall.

ECU's have a tendency to play havoc at the most un-expected and important time's, I really dont think there is anything "suspicious" about the malfunction, atleast I hope not.

This lead's me to think that next season will be a DOOZY with the McLaren designed ecu that everyone must use, the report's have not been very flattering from most of the team's.

It will be another excuse to find fault with McLaren. It's a political timebomb. There could be further developments on the issue. Personally, I would like to see McLaren and TAG sell what they've developed so far and allow somebody else to carry on developing it. I suspect the reason there are still a few bugs in the system is because it's a challenge to standardise 12 different cars in one unit.

Kind of like how everyone want's to find fault with Ferrari right?

I agree with you about 'farming out' the final developement of the ecu, that has been mention, and I believe is what McLaren hope's to do and it sure would help avoid the political charade it could bring. You know I agree with you about trying to 'standardise' the ecu for all the team's but what baffle's me is is every engine is of the same format why are some team's having such issue's with it?
