Factions in Ferrari have targetted Kubica to replace Massa for 2011.Contact has already been made with the Pole. This is despite Massa making his best ever start to the season and lying 4th in the all time world championship race winners list for Ferrari. No decision has yet been made nor wil it be until after the British GP.
Puts Massa under presure I'd say for the next 7races.

Taking that with a large pinch of salt. no sense there.

Article by Edd Straw with a Ferrari sokesman confirming that though tentative contract discussions have been held with Massa, the team are in no hurry to finalise 2011 line up.

I agree makes no sense.

It has been a passing mention for a while actually. Prior to his Hungarian accident there were hushed rumours that Massa was being punted out for an Alonso/Raikkonen line-up.
Kubica only has a one year deal with Renault and is free to talk to a top line team at the end of the season.

I was thinking... maybe Ferrari didnt replace Massa out of 'fidelity' or some kind of contractual clause (re. accidents)
They would have had Alonso and Kimi this yr :whip:

As for the Kubica talks... i'm sure Ferrari AND other teams have been in talks with him. I'm also sure Ferrari will talk to other drviers around the end time of Massa's contract. In the end they'll choose what they think its best.

Massa under pressure... nothing new. So is Alonso, Vettel, Webber, Jenson, Schumacher, Barrichello, the rookies..........

No its specifically Massa whose contract is not secure, Alonso's is. Ferrari feel with Kubica and Alonso they will have one of the strongest driver pairings and also they want it because "of the strong personal friendship between the two"..... hmmmmm Alonso pulling strings? Or Alonso and Massa not getting on??

No offence. :bs: It was flying around for so long that Alonso was not coming to Ferrari. Just wait for Kubica to agree.....

Sure, Alonso has a secure contract. But he is under pressure, i mean... regardless of the contract.

or... could it be Kubica's performances??

anyway... i bet Alonso is p***ed off at Massa for slowing him down in Australia... whether he has the power to make Ferrari take a contractual decision about this... i doubt it. I doubt Ferrari would be so silly. But they have the opportunity to talk to a couple highly rated drivers... would be silly not to.

It's not Kubica, I heard Ferrari are actually after Danica Patrick. :P
