hi,

just confused as to why some lap records for example bahrain still hold true even with the "major" regulation changes such as running full fuel etc, not only that but in bahrain in particular they added an entire new section, the the lap record was still schumacher's from the first ever race their at 1:30 odd, yet on the new layout with the new regulations none of the drivers would stand a chance at ever beating that. it just seems unfair to me.

I believe the lap record would have been 'reset' with the new layout, like i believe it has with Spa post bus-stop and so on...

The old Bahrain Lap Record only stands for that layout in F1. The new Layout has its own F1 Lap Record. I imagine the TV Graphics sitll listed Schumi's old record, but that's because the new layout didn't have a record.
