The whole thing is true but it's only a minor change to the diffuser McLaren, Mercedes, Renault and Force India will have no problems adapting the diffuser and the performance loss will be very minimal. The thing that gets me Brawn were using this sort of thing last year and they didn't seem to care now they do?

I think he's saying that Brawn were taking the same advantage last year using the same loophole and it didn't get banned.

Yes, that's what I meant. I just couldn't remember if it was them, Toyota or Williams who had done it. All three of them had some nifty innovations

Ted Kravitz was just saying something interesting on BBC's FP1 coverage:

- Mercedes and Renault aren't actually affected by this decision as their starter motor holes are still within sufficient dimensions.
- McLaren have actually lost approx. 1.5-2 tenths per lap, contrary to their 'PR speak' as he put it.
